This article covers the same story but has a poll. If anyone would like to participate I think you should. The question is "Do these sales promote illegal gun trafficking? "

The Obama administration has been good for the firearms industry. Record gun sales and ammunition shortages.

Awesome! I believe it. Keep in mind folks, this figure doesn't include California since we don't use the free NICS system and also doesn't include private sales in most states.
The second highest number of gun owners in the country reside in California (second to Texas).
So the numbers are probably even crazier. Awesome

California, where all of the good stuff is banned, registered, regulated or prohibited, yay.....

Law abiding firearm owners have no chance in this state.

That article is from the 2009 record...
I thought CA does use the NICS. DOJ just doesn't release the firearm until the ten 24-hour periods are over.

DOJ may not do it that same day, but still ...

My understanding is that they do use NICS, but can also check other state databases.

Legislators should realize that gun owners are growing and with that purchase like no other thing I have seen they wake up and become... politically aware!

For our house on Black Friday/Cyber Monday it was parts kits and mags. While not reflected in the NICS checks, we certainly did our part.
