I am disappointed. However, as a member of his district who has voted for him, having recently attended a town hall meeting where there was not opportunity to hold a dialog with him because of the irates in the crowd who were not interested in conversation (most who spoke did not ask a question or have room in their rants for Lungrens comments), who called his office and talked to his staff in detail about this issue; I am not surprised. His staff told me that he has staked his career on the 10th amendement. This vote is consistent with his having been the top law enforcement officer in the state. Perhaps it would be accurate to say that he cares more about the ability of the state to police than the ability of citizens to protect themselves.
However, it is really interesting to me that the local chief of police where the meeting was held and all the law enforcement officers in the room that I talked to (I spoke to both uniformed and plain clothes LEO's from three agencies) were all pro private citizen CCW. Or were they just being political - telling me what they thought I wanted to hear?
