pro-gun Democrat is a very progressive notion.....

      True -we expect more.
A anti gun democrat is not disgusting because they have good motives.
So lets single out every bad Republican and let the demcratic party off.

Lundgren is looking to bolster his re-election chances in a recently redrawn district. His new boundaries include more liberal areas than before and he probably does not want to alienate those voters. Any likely opposition from the Dem side would probably be Ami Bera, who is far worse than Lundgren on almost all issues.

I really don't care for him either, but fortunately have Tom McClintock as my rep.

Dan Lungren has NEVER been a friend of conservatives or the Republican party. He has ALWAYS been a "rino".

                  Dunno about that.

Dannyboy always carried the rellgious-antiabortion stance (as well as Prop 8 BS) as one of his primary political traits... the former is one of the key reasons he lost against Davis.

As Gene Hoffman has said many times, the left hates guns but the right often hates rights.

Why is an antigun republican more disgusting than a democratic one?

Further why do C+ republicans get more anger than F rated democrats?

You know, probably it is. In a conflict like we are in with the Democrats, you really aren't going to sway any opinions and it is probably a bad investment to try. What you *can* do is make sure that your own people follow your lead without question. If DL isn't towing the line, better to lose him as an example to the others than to continue limping along with him because he's better than the others.

And please don't suggest Jerry Brown. Being only anti-gun vs. virulently anti-gun doesn't make someone neutral...
