Looks like a definition to me:
"Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California"
Neither the words "ban" or "gay" or any words even close to them are even mentioned. Using your logic it is also a ban on the marriage of dogs to cats. There are many different living arrangements that some may want to be considered as "marriage", the proposition clarified the terms of what would be "valid or recognized" in CA. IF you want to call it a ban on gay marriage, so be it; but to be intellectually honest you also need to call it a ban on all forms of marriage besides that of "between a man and a woman"; to call it a ban on gay marriage shows bias, and the accompanying intellectual dishonesty that always comes with it. The most intellectually honest description is to call it what it is, a definition of the term "marriage".
And therein lies the importance of this argument, you just want to redefine the term to meet what you want it to mean, as if your definition some how has more merit than anyone elses.
it is a defacto ban due to the fact the State would not recognize a non- male/female union.
no talk of cats or dogs is required.Comment

Regarding "liberty is the answer"...
No law we pass can change a person's heart or a person's mind. At the very least a law might affect a person's actions because they fear the consequences, maybe. Full disclosure - I am a Christian. I am a Christian in that I believe God has a connection with mankind that was carried to the rest of mankind through the Jews, and Jewish law is not God's law anymore, not after Jesus invited all of mankind to come under God's authority.
Ok, given all that, I STILL believe that we shouldn't create laws that are intended to "influence" culture. You can't legislate love. Government ("collectivism"), is INCAPABLE of changing hearts. I honestly believe that the most christian thing you can do is advocate for the highest level of individual freedom possible. The bible is very clear - it's the Holy Spirit's job to convict people of sin - NOT ours.
Alright, rant over. I know many people here disagree with me about many different things, but honestly if you are advocating for reducing rights then you are wrong. Wrong in so many ways, pragmatically and dogmatically.Comment

No politician, moving forward, will EVER "say" they don't support the 2A. But her idea of support means everything except bolt-actions should be banned or HIGHLY regulated. She wants REALITY to look like her eBay policies.

Even Hilary and Obama "support the constitution" and the 2nd, which is, of course, all about hunting in their minds.John -- bitter gun owner.
