I see this as a gain in the long run. We had to move forward and now we can.

It's either optimism or the kool aid.

The passing of these bills is multiple steps back that will take years and plenty of money to get rid of. It will probably lead to more anti gun bills being passed next session.

At least we don't have Meg, right?

a reason to fight harder and contribute more time and money to the cause. It's a marathon, have to remind ourselves that.
just happy to be here. I like talking about better ways to protect ourselves.

See you guys, I'm out of here.

Remember, the last American Citizen needs to turn out the lights on their way out of CA.

California's crappy economy, high taxes, stupid government (all levels), and insane gun laws were just to much for me.

Just got my WA state drivers licence, so I have 90 days until I can apply for my WA State Concealed weapons permit.

The worst thing to come out of this beside the fact that we got screwed on these bills in spite of our vociferous opposition is the message it sends to our legislature.

Get ready for a real *** reaming for the next few years on useless new restrictions on your second amendment rights.

Who the effe knows. I mean I can see the strategy, and how it is SUPPOSED to play out, everytime a new law is passed though we are set back and set back, we get a slight win, then courts just ignore it, departments ignore it.

This fellow traveler gives a big +1 to this statement. Aside from long gun registration, this is one big "Oh please Brer Fox, whatever you do, please don't throw me into the briar patch."

DOJ Firearms Division now has to revamp the entire DROS program. This has some interesting implications.

                        Really?

JB vetoed the ammo bill and gave the rationale as to why he'd veto it again next year. That likely means this threat will be diminished (introduced but effectively held in abeyance). It's close to a long-term kill on our side.

UOC isn't even a primarily 2A issue - it's 1A. AB144 is wrong but will likely overall further our RKBA.

The DROS system may soon be on life-support because of JB's signature.

Carry licensing just got better which means CGF/CRPA will have more time and resources to fight other battles.

Long gun registration will likely result in favorable case law after increasing NRA membership and donations.

They celebrate after shooting themselves in the foot? We should have big grins and go to work.

And if RCoC is to be credible they'll go to court on 1A grounds.

Edit: I can't remember who the Revolutionary War general was or which battle, but at the end of the day the British held the objective they'd sought. The victorious general opined that he could not afford many more victories of that nature. That's where we've got the anti's - they may be winning some battles but they're doing it at a cost which is going to be too much for them. Many more victories which result in advancing our RKBA will lead them to increasingly desperate situations and attempts, and that is good for us.

The hole we have to get ourselves out of just became a whole lot deeper and more expensive. I am really looking for a good reason to remain in the PDRK, so far I am coming up empty. If the state refuses to recognize the Fed. Constitution, then it can do as it pleases to its subjects.

Jerry Brown never was, and never will be any friend of ours. At least Meg wouldn't have signed the stupid dream act.

Well said, if Jerry brown was actually a friend to gun owners at the very least he would be pushing for a "shall issue" bill. There is a mountain of evidence that law abiding citizens continue to be law abiding when they exercise their god given right to carry.
None of my friends have ever tried to limit my freedoms, or side with those that do.
