All I can say is that this guy is attempting to slick the uninformed into thinking that he is offering them something tangible. http://www.suntimes.com/news/metro/6292004-417/gun-ranges-to-be-allowed-in-chicago-under-rahms-proposal.html If this has been posted elsewhere, I apologize.

Why do some of the people there think this is a good thing?
I registered so I could show them our thread here, but I have to wait for admin approval to post.

I think people are so desperate for freedom that they'll settle for the ounce Chicago is offering instead of taking it by the pound in court.
I feel that way here too sometimes after I'm coming back from Arizona.

True, but that's much less of a slam dunk, and leaves a lot of wiggle room for an unsympathetic court to upholds a broad host of things we don't like, such as discriminatory zoning ordinances and government harassment of lawful businesses that falls short of an actual ban. I think our best hope lies in Chicago's city council being too brainless to understand that it's in their interest to pass this. I honestly wouldn't count it out. If you don't believe me, watch the video Gene posted here:http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...&postcount=213

No, really, watch it. I swear, you'll truly have difficulty imagining how such muddle-headed fools came to any kind of power.

The problem is the council will do whatever Rham tells them to do, just like they rubber-stamped all of Daley's BS. However, if covert 'activists' were to paint Rham and the council into a corner accusing them of going soft on gun laws . . . .

But I believe that Rham will make them understand this is a strategic move to undermine the establishment of what is for them, negative case law.

I'd argue something different. I'd say that Chicago's leadership just got smarter. That's good for the citizens and bad for those of us not there as we lose a punching bag. I expect Mr. Emanuel is going to keep backing off and trying to keep from having a direct confrontation on gun rights - unlike his predecessor. Maybe the conversation about paying Alan's bill in McDonald reminded the legal team they shouldn't keep racking up those sorts of bills for Alan's time.

                      That's a shame.

I'd sent the Bugatti folks Alan's email. I was gonna make a nifty commission.

Don't forget that Rahm Emanuel is rumored to have been the White House contact is the whole "Gunwalker" program. In addition to not wanting to fight a losing battle, he may know that the gun control movement is going to be getting some very negative press in the next few months.

Gotta go Corvette. It's as American as the Second Amendment.
