You can CCW in Arizona without a permit, but it does include some restrictions like you can't carry in a bar or a restaurant that serves alcohol, even if you aren't drinking.

You also MUST declare to any officer that you are carrying concealed, even if they don't ask.

With an Arizona CCW you get a couple things:
1.) You can carry in restaurants that serve alcohol.
2.) You are not legally obligated to notify the cops you are carrying.
3.) You will get reciprocity with other states.
    Please read the Calguns Wiki
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.

The Applications etc. would be my way of celebrating graduation, It was that or the watch I've been coveting for the last couple of years.... and I think the applications would be a less selfish indulgence (and I could help further the 2A).

beautiful watch though... 1959 breitling navitimer...

I would love to go back to the pop. That was a really fun job.

I think I'm going to be stuck in NYC for a little while though (the wife has a good job and it's going to take time to track down something similar)

So I'm making the most of it

Also, for residents (or those from states who are authorized to purchase in AZ) you can buy from a FFL without the background check. The FFL will take photocopy of your DL and your CCW and then that's it, walk out with the weapon.

A lot of people on backpage will only sell firearms (esp. pistols) to those who have CCWs since they know that they should be eligible to own firearms.

A question that I get asked a lot is "what happens if my shirt rides up" or "what if my pistol "prints"" Answer: Nothing legally, since open carry is already a right. Another person will prob let you know if you shirt rides up and your pistol is exposed though....

Most LEOs out here will give the benefit of the doubt to you (in my experience only) if you "inform" them that you have a CCW and are carrying. I do a lot of ride a longs and a few Deputies have told me that basically they know someone with a CCW is more or less a good citizen, YMMV.
