For God's sake man, he had a Mossberg 12 ga. Oh, wait, I have one of those.
As for the Enfield, my father has one.

I'd hate to see what the New York press would make of the combined "arsenals" that are present in my family.

Oh, and I'll bet that my wife has at least 100 knives, 100 pots and pans and a bunch of skillets. No one said what type of knives. This seems just slightly sensationalistic.

That and WHO trusts someone else with their firearms? I personally move cerrtain items, including firearms, jewelry, family photos, high end audio equipment...

The movers can haul my wife's thousand pounds of cookware.

this is what drives me mad. how can the same types of firearms be legal in some parts of the country and a crime in NYC. This man is facing prison because he doesn't have a permission slip from a Bloomberg bureaucrat to exercise a fundamental right. I hope he fights it.

Why does it seem like 99% of all gun possession arrests start with neighbors or strangers ratting a gun owner out to the cops, and the cops are now able to confiscate everything and arrest the accused even when no crime has been committed? F'd up, wouldn't you say so?

....Wonder if they'll bust him for unregistered tattoo guns as well. Sheesh. I wish whoever wrote that article would've mentioned the moving company by name. What a scummy thing to do to your customers.

why would the movers snitch him out?

Billboards all over nyc telling ppl they'll get a 1000$ ( or more ) reward for turning in "illegal guns"

probably made more for a phone call then a week of work.

I have no sympathy for the guy. Yes, all that stuff should be legal, but it isn't and he knew it and knew what the consequences would be.

But more than that, when celebrities, billionaires, NFL players, etc, get busted with illegal guns, I ask a few questions to myself. Did this person make the effort to get legal?

Like when this billionaire in La Jolla was caught with various illegal weapons and sentenced. He had the resources that he could have done it legally. He could have gotten a CCW for a machine gun legally if he had wanted to. But he chose to buy them illegally instead. For what?

And my next question: was this person actively involved in fighting for gun rights for the rest of us? For many of the celebrities, the answer is, no, in fact they tend to be very liberal and support far-left politicians. They support gun control and when they get caught by their own gun laws, it's hard for me to sympathize.

                                Defendant with connected friends

NY denies many people gun permits for lack of good cause. They make acquiring even single shot rifles a pain.

We may have a 2nd amendment case here if the defendant is otherwise clean for rifles and knives. Of course the 2nd circuit has shown they can't read, so he may be in court for years.

Perhaps his clients may want to have a fund raiser for him, they could have a celebrity shoot. We could even help by showing up and loaning use of some of our toys.

Who knows, we could maybe even flip some people to our side.
