Meeting in Sac Today Re: Gun Violence and White Supremacy

Mass shooters predominately black
If you look up the definition of "mass shooting" you will see that there are mass shootings every week in this country. The definition varies by source with some sources stating that a mass shooting is an event where 3 or more, 4 or more, 5 or more people are shot but not necessarily killed in a single event. Well in this country this happens a lot in predominantly black areas. Outside clubs when the crowd lets out at closing time, at social events in the communities, or neighborhood gatherings in places like Philadelphia, Detroit, Chicago, Baltimore, Atlanta, etc... And guess what? These shootings are not carried out by white supremacists who drive down to a black neighborhood looking for victims. These mass shootings are carried out by the members of those communities. These shootings happen every week in multiple locations and are almost never reported by the main stream media as mass shootings. In fact these stories aren't covered very much at all even by local media because that would be politically incorrect. Offensive! Inappropriate even!Originally posted by idaholivesThe replies in this thread are frankly disgusting.
OP brings up a town meeting where the purpose is to discuss "gun violence and its link to white supremacy", and people are understandably annoyed that only anti-gun views are represented.
But all of you are being so absolutely tone-deaf it's no wonder they don't want a "pro-gun" voice there. I'm reading replies about how minorities are responsible for most crime, how the city leadership is encouraging minority victimization, and the perennial No True Scotsman where everyone disavows a mass shooter based on some arbitrary extracurricular affiliation.
Facts - The El Paso and Gilroy shooters were:
1. Racists
2. Familiar with guns, and owners of semiauto rifles
3. Attacked people who Trump has railed against, even if only coincidentally.
Anyone from outside will read this thread and see that all of their fears about gun owners are true - because I see nothing in here but criticism of minorities and deflecting the blame onto Democrats.
This is a public forum. Have some goddamn common sense and go back to 8chan if you want to share crime rate copypasta.Comment

dems have gone from abandoning, to disenfranchising,
to all of the above plus demonizing Whites. Any White
citizen that votes (d) is just committing suicide.sigpicOriginally posted by dunndealStop digging.iTraderOriginally posted by BrassCaseI only buy fireworks from Three Finger Willie over at One Eyed Jack's Fireworks.

That's ridiculous. The left doesn't want or need armed takeover. That's a survivalist fantasy. The left will peacefully squeeze us out, as they have been.
The left bans guns because that's the low-hanging fruit. They want to "do something" and that seems simple enough. As we here understand, that is overly simplistic, and in the big picture, gun control does not reduce violence, it just moves it. The real effort should be spent on reversing moral decay, but that hurts too many feelings.Comment

When they come to arrest you for "hate speech", you can be sure they will be armed. That's ridiculous. The left doesn't want or need armed takeover. That's a survivalist fantasy. The left will peacefully squeeze us out, as they have been.

White supremacy hardly exists / is mostly a myth (a brown scare)... but the stats about other group's crime rates are facts. This is a typical 'replace Y with X" and see how it sounds... and people yelling racist in response. re: why isnt talking about a phony white nationalist movement tone def or problematic.Originally posted by idaholivesThe replies in this thread are frankly disgusting.

Anyway; this is a place to run over ideas and arguments. If you have suggestions....
For what it is worth; anyone the left doesn't like is a right wing extremist and white nationalist... and they're being dehumanised. There is an actual argument that this kind of talk is prelude to even more violence. ie; real hate speech...Last edited by sl0re10; 09-01-2019, 3:39 PM.Comment

Any time a person expresses an unpopular point of view (racial or otherwise including blacks/hispanics demeaning whites) this becomes red flag fodder for some liberal to run down to the police station and scream they are scared for their lives even though the speaker may not even know the person or know they are alive. I do not like a lady who is constantly telling me how to live my life and sticking her nose in my business and I have told her off a couple of times. If she knew i had legal guns she would run down to the police station and suddenly say she was terrified to live near me and would that allow her to have all my guns taken away. Red flag laws seem to be more about supression of free speech as much as loss of weapons.Comment

I'm already afraid to speak moderate pro 2a arguments in public forums under my name. I expressed my concerns in another thread about being red flagged and was called out by a couple for not being more open.Any time a person expresses an unpopular point of view (racial or otherwise including blacks/hispanics demeaning whites) this becomes red flag fodder for some liberal to run down to the police station and scream they are scared for their lives even though the speaker may not even know the person or know they are alive. I know my neighbors and what most are capable of. No need to kick a hornet's nest just because you can.
It's not just words that will get you flagged, but actions that others my perceive as suspicious which may be "normal" to you.Kyle 1886 wrote:
The political climate when we moved to the mobile home park we reside in, it was almost entirely Conservative/Republican 55 plus folks. The majority were retired business owners. (212 homes)
Then there was no problem "talking shop" about firearms and never wanting to have a range partner.
Twenty years later, I'd be asking to be evicted or worse for doing that. The influx of different ethnicities has changed dramatically which alters the areas general culture. Add to that a general shift to the left from a "new breed" of 55 plus folks; many of which are single elderly women.
I certainly do not advertise when I go to the range. The culture has changed as has the political atmosphere that it would not be a wise thing to do.
Some things are better left to ones self.
