Bringing up anti-minority talking points, whether you think they're true or not, is the worst possible way to call it out in this context.

These forums should be for the promotion of gun ownership, regardless of class/ethnicity/LGBT/whatever. Not for arguing race politics even if someone from outside makes that an issue for gun owners. This is a public forum and the writings of one person reflect on all members.

I'm in SoCal and voted almost entirely straight R on the last election, but you'd say I'm lying anyway so what does it matter. I value gun rights and have no interest in encouraging a system of government handouts. For some reason you are confusing social skills with leftism.

Speaking as someone who may or may not have former intelligence experience:

I chuckle whenever someone brings up the "Russian Propaganda" thing, like this is new, or that it necessarily has had that much of an impact. Russia isn't the only country playing that game, not to mention it isn't even so much Russia as a government, but Russian individuals, corporations, and criminal organizations profiteering. It doesn't take a government to do this type of thing, in fact, its more often that corporations do it.

I also have to remind people that bring that up of this: if Facebook is supposed to be a neutral party, then why are they involved in trying to filter or restrict content deemed to be "propaganda," as a private third party offering an information platform/service? Why? Oh, because they're doing the same thing for the military/intelligence industrial complex that we're now "exposing" Russian (and U.K.) actors for doing.

What was really entertaining was CNN going on about Russia flying the Bear Box, as if this was new, they've been flying the Tu-95/142 on that route like clockwork almost every night for last almost 59 years.

Democrats can be, and often are, racists too. That's not the point.

The point is that if they are busy accusing gun owners of racism, you don't go on public forums blasting how minorities are the problem. Whether they are or not.

If I go to the doctor because I keep getting splinters in my eyeballs, and he tells me "Oh, the splinters in your eyes aren't the issue, the REAL problem is that you have cancer." He might be right that your systemic problem is going to kill you, but you're not in the ER for your cancer. You probably won't appreciate being told the splinter in your eye should be solved after the cancer is taken care of first.

Mass shootings are, by the numbers, not as much of a problem as gang warfare. And real, uncensored statistics, while unpleasant for many to think about, might be useful in certain contexts and circumstances. Bringing them up when the rest of the world is calling you a racist is not. one. of. them.

If you feel attacked for your race/religion/politics, you're not alone. Just keep in mind the Russians have a vested interest in getting you to feel attacked, and anyone who does attack you might be victims of Russian propaganda just the same.

Comment - If I went to the Dr. about a splinter in my eye and they said I had cancer, I'm going the be damn sure glad they brought it up. I might even forget about the splinter because you know.... CANCER! It's kinda important. Who in their right mind would want a Dr. to be so focused on the splinter in their eye that they don't immediately tell you about the cancer?

Question - What would be an acceptable response in your mind? What should we be talking about? Trying to convince people we're not racists? I'm sure that will be fruitful.

I'll bet you want us to talk about how horrible it is that those poor innocent people are being kept in concentration camps down south where they have to drink out of toilets right? That would be an acceptable topic wouldn't it?
