That's where I am. The Bruen Six surely aren't going to be happy about the 9th continuing to obstruct and ignore the Supreme Court's opinion. I feel like if the 9th continues to play games then the shadow docket is a viable option.

That's not entirely true, the scheduling for Renna was vacated specifically so an amended complain could be filed. The actions on Renna are happening.

Yes! The complaint is being amended to take out the roster.

What’s the difference between a federal judge and God?

God doesn’t think he is a federal judge.

Back in 1992, the 9th District & Circuit Courts got slapped real hard by SCOTUS on Death Penalty cases. They were ordered to stop all the delays.

Don't be so sure. As long as Roberts is CJ look for hyjinx and shenanigans to continue.

This is so infuriating b/c courts can just disobey the law. I'm not allowed to ignore court rulings.

I had to be a pessimist but sadly "The Supreme Court has no power to enforce its decisions. It cannot call out the troops or compel Congress or the president to obey. The Court relies on the executive and legislative branches to carry out its rulings. In some cases, the Supreme Court has been unable to enforce its rulings."

State courts obviously can and do ignore supreme court rulings and I'm guessing it would take years before any repercussions actually take place. What's the point of the court rulings if other courts don't even have to follow them anyway?

And no, I don't want to get into the whole federal vs state's rights and all that. I'm sure that's what the CA courts are hiding behind.

Wait, so the "I'm suing the state over the constitutionality of laws" judges are also the same judges who preside over criminal trials such as murder and robbery? I thought they're different kinds of judges.

Yes but we live in a differnt world now and its good to let people know what should happen in this environment. After all, the 9th is part of the federal court system.

So Benitiz is currently presiding over Raul Guzman drug trial.
I believe this is a relative of El Chapo Guzman the mexican drug lord convicted in NY.

I hope Benitiz has good security.

If I put my tinfoil hat on, I would not put if past some of the other side to slow things down by extra-judicial means. With the high profile drug trial they would have perfect cover. Was "Saint Benitiz" in the recent document release oopsie?

There were 2 listings for Steven Benitez of spring valley (san diego county).
The rest of the Benitez listings are in central california.
