They are waiting for him to die. There is no particular reason that this case should still be pending after all these years, but it might have something to do with Nichols being in pro per and not a lawyer on the one hand and the court's unwillingness to consider this as anything but a nuisance lawsuit on the other. The court really is averse to ruling on the issues presented.

Baird has been sitting for 5 months waiting for oral arguments. Maybe they're waiting for him to die too.

L.R. 83-9.2 Joint Request for Decision filed by Plaintiff Charles Nichols and Defendant Rob Bonta re: Reply (Motion related) 218, Minutes of In Chambers Order/Directive - no proceeding held,,,, Terminate Hearings,,,, Set/Reset Motion Hearing and R&R Deadlines,,, 211, NOTICE OF MOTION AND MOTION for Summary Judgment 204 (Nichols, Charles) (Entered: 02/10/2025)

Seems they are getting anxious for the judge to act. They've been waiting since October 4, 2024.

From Charles Nichols’ website: The Court has set an intended decision date of May 30th.

                The decision could come sooner.
