Just a guess but when but he was probably thinking about 7 x 30rd mags or 210rds. The California equivalent would be 21 x 10rd mags.

I generally keep at least 4 spares for my self defense pistols and at least 8 for my rifles. I'd keep more if I could afford them.

My minimum is 5 per pistol. Minimum.

For rifle... wow.. no limit really.

        All are kept loaded.

What you got to remember, is that if the SHTF, whatever mags you have, will be all you probably will ever get. So you should buy until you feel comfortable with your supply.

I agree with a pervious poster. I think his reference of 7 mags being in his rig. If you bought standard cap magazines before the ban, you can own them. But you can't use them. Unless the SHTF.

Ya, i meant 210 rounds. I buy 10/30s and they are blocked. When SHTF the blocks come out.

USMC combat load is six 30 round mags. That being said, For SHTF get as many GOOD mags as possible. Handgun mags IMO aren't as important as primary rifle magazines. I have 3 magazines for each of my handguns because that is what I will carry on me in SHTF and I have a rig for 6, 5.56 mags on my vest and I would carry a few in a back pack.

                  I'm that good.

You would use a hacksaw to remove the blocks, right? Cause they're permanent blocks, right?

I have (six) .223 mags on my chest rig and (Four) .40 mags on my belt.

You need to do a "full load out" and see how many mags you can tactically operate with. Keep in mind you will be carrying water, emergency supplies, backpack and of course your firearms and you still have to be able to run and climb over that wall !

If you know how many you have, you probably don't have enough.

If you're planning for TEOTWAWKI you need to think in terms of how many magazines will you wear out in the lifetime of your firearm.
