    How many mags per firearm?

Did a search on CG and couldn't find much.

Just wondering how many magazines does everyone have for each of their SHTF weapons.

I have heard many people recommend having anywhere from 7-10 mags per rifle and 5 per pistol.

A standard rifle loadout is 7 mags iirc. I would go with atleast that. I have 4 for sidearm, although wouldn't mind more.

I thought about that as a guide but that is only 70 rounds. 7 mags per is not a bad number to start off at.

About 6 or 7 for most handguns. I don't even know how many m4 mags I have. Never counted. But I have a couple tough boxes full and countless more laying around in gear and deployment bags haha. I guess I'm good on those.

8 mags for each semi-auto is starting point; catch deals as they come along.

can't have too many or too much of mags and ammo.

I keep five per - one in the gun and four in ready. I agree you can never have too many but practicality, at least for me, demands more rounds and less mags.

                        Minimum, schminimum...

Instead of buying guns, I have been buying mags and ammo.

Haha that's how I was as a kid. Dad bought me my own Sig, beretta, and ar magazines. Used my own mags when my dad took me shooting. When I turned 18 he gifted me a beretta. When I turned 21 I bought a sig.

Can never have too many magazines.

About 30 mags for the two M1 Carbines...otherwise, 2 extra minimum for each of the 4 Kahrs, zillions of speedloaders for the for various revolvers...lets just LOTS of them!
