Interesting day today with the Swiss Franc blowing up over the Euro. Rumors of bank runs in Greece and Russia's abandonment of the Petrodollar.

What say ye stackers about what may transpire over the next few weeks?

I don't see a way out of the global collapse. They will print more and more. Money will chase as much safety as possible, you can't trade this market, PM's to get a lot of attention now. Gold over 200 dma, the bull is back with a vengeance.

          "Russia's abandonment of the Petrodollar"

Maybe I missed something while gone, trying to catch up but my understanding is most of Russia's oil sales are in US Dollars. They then purchase Rubles with it. This actually negates most the drop in oil.

It sounds like they are dumping the dollars for Yuan?

This would certainly explain why WTI began a sharp rebound in price. I was scratching my head in Vegas wondering how it could be catching Brent.

I guess we made a boo boo and now it's biting us in the kester. China could now start buying Gold like crazy and really throw a monkey wrench into this mix.

We may hear that we will be bailing out the Frackers to keep the oil flowing here. What choice will be have? Another bad debt for us. Woe is me, woe is me.

correct me if I am wrong I thought precious metals are just a good hedge against inflation? Just a few rooms over there are CalGun members preparing for a SHTF situation. If that happens will not precious metals be worthless? I mean if the Apocalypse happens some of the most valuable things to have invested in is knowledge, firearms and ammo as well as food and secure shelter.
I understand that investing is as important as a good career choice but if the dollar collapses and I/you/we stay in this country then all bets are off right?

There are many degree's of collapse and SHTF. Today, background radiation from one nuclear plant in the world is causing it to spike and increase. This situation is uncontrollable and will continue for 1,000's of years. Hate to burst your bubble but should there be a W3 or several nuke plants go off line unattended because Mad Max appeared, life on this planet goes extinct.

So now even the Swiss pay negative interest on your savings. See the big picture here? Fiat money is screaming that it isn't worth the paper it is printed on.

Besides intrinsic and collectible value silver coins like 1/2 and silver dollars always mark upward over time...

Since silver also has industrial value in electronics and other. Its a no brainer.

Guys, can one transfer ones 401k into PM's? I don't have much in my account but it would be nice to be able to catch the upswing on prices.
