I would go, but I'll be in Vegas at SHOT. Too bad, I would have liked to be there for this.

For those who go, please give us a report on what happened.

They are also going after Predator Hunting and Non-game hunting. Use of Dogs, Trapping, Depredation, are all under attack. All the proposed changes are made by the HSUS and Project Coyote.

if anyone thinks that they were only going after dogs used for bears I have a sub with screen doors to sell you. they will go after waterfowl use and upland use of dogs next.

the HSUS are not the only ones backing these bans.

yeah the one thing to tell the DFG at the meeting is the science doesn't back up the law.

Thank your neighbor and fellow gun owners for passing Prop 63. For that gun control is a winning legislative agenda.

The proposed changes are brutal. They are going after it all.

This is worse than I thought.

HERE IS THE PDF WITH THE HSUS AND PROJECT COYOTE SUGGESTIONS.

Basically they are telling DFW to end all fur bearing predator hunting.

Here's what HSUS says in the document about taking of bobcats.

We think bobcats should not be hunted or trapped in California. It is
largely a commercial hunt and not justified.

AND I understand that HSUS and Project Coyote have all four seats on the F&W predator sub-committee.

For anyone not able to attend. Please submit your question(s). I'll try to get them all answered.
Are there any real life Californian hunters on any of these committees? Or just special interest group representatives and non-hunter residents?

Agreed and the problem is that most organizations like CWA and others wont pay attention until its too late.

Hunters are to disorganized and most I talk to not here seem to not care.

In regards to AB-711, here's a little visual queue. From the Senate Floor Analysis, showing supporters (antis) and opponents (sportsmen/2a). Supporting groups outnumbered opponents by about a third (73 vs 44) including cities and counties chiming in. Should also be noted that this (AB711) was one of the most opposed in regards to official groups listed in any final analysis I've seen from last session. Other examples of this support vs oppose were much worse for us.

While this graphic might be disheartening, it is real and hopefully would stir some to understand the need for more involvement on these issues. A call to action, so to speak.

                              Question as follows.

Humane Society claims to have done studies on predator hunts. Did the Dept. of F&G also do similar studies and what was the budget comparison in regards to the studies done by both entities?

Was the Dept. able to do a study like the Humane Society? Or, was the Dept. bootstrapped by under funding due to budget constraints to issue a comprehensive analysis. Did the HS buy this analysis to suit their agenda knowing that outspending the state would give them the upper hand on cherry picked outcomes?

BTW this is exactly what the Humane Society does! They outspend our own state biologists and send it to the committee as fact!
