Clearlake, last cast before getting off the boat. Pulled right under the boat and had to fight on the ramp. Warden seen it and gave me a "GO" to go by the dock!

            Buck #2 down...

Spotted this 5x4 at approx 100 yards for my little brother. I blurred his face because I didn't ask to post it. One shot with 270, entered just behind the shoulder, took a chunk out of the heart, and it still ran about 200 yards down a super steep canyon. Biggest D-3 buck shot in my family for years (Uncle shot a 6x5 near Sierra Buttes 23 years ago). This is an old deer, with an old face, and some pretty heavy horns. We are actually going to have it mounted. I was proud of my big X3B 4x3... until he bagged this one.

Missed the opening of waterfowl season since I can't remember when but was rewarded with this nice D5 buck. Taken at 125 yards with .270 Remington 700.

I moved back to Maine at the beginning of October and I hadn't hunted since I was 10. This past Saturday, on my fourth outing of the year I landed a nice little 8 point white tail, 155 lbs dressed. Took him down where he stood with one shot just in front of the shoulder as he was facing quarter-to, with a 64 gr SSA bonded SP round from my Sionics Patrol III XL rifle at about 40 yards. I'm a little bummed my deer season is over so early but I'm definitely happy to have had a good harvest.

Great North Woods, eh? Very cool, how do like living in Maine? I want to visit that great state sometime.
