I have a similar old Coleman (a 3 burner) likely made in the 1950s. The fuel tank finally rusted out so I bought a propane adaptor for it about 10 years ago.

I hear the BTU output is less when using propane, but I honestly have not noticed a difference in actual use.

Oh man, don't get started down that road of collecting old Colemans. I have more than I would like to admit and yes, the stuff is not only bomb proof but stupid simple to maintain. I always roll old school Coleman stuff in my campsite.

That first pic reminds me of the zippo hand warmers.

Not Coleman stoves, but does anyone remember the "Skotch Kooler"? How about the "Skotch Kooker" portable grill? I'll never get rid of these.

Only way to kill a Old Coleman, or Svea backpack stove for that matter is to use automotive fuel in them. Always keep a can of Colman fuel in storage.
My stove is from the late 50's early 60's works like a champ. Those propane conversions never did anything for me, too much trash to cart away.
