                You should look into how the Mormon church and its members prep. I joke that my SHTF prep involved obtaining a Stake directory (joke only works with the LDS crowd).

                    Mormons do prep for disaster though I think they have like a days supply for each of their members at any local congregation

                                Got a chuckle from me...I grew up in Salt Lake City.

                                Almost married a jack Mormon.

                                Interesting angle though... I like it. It could always work as a back-up plan, join the local Mormon church.
                                It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.

                                                When it ever happens finding Mormanism will be popular. I'm not one, but have lots of friends who are and even a family member that joined them. Good people....not my thing but I'll bet their prep theory will bring over a lot of converts.
