Thanks! It was a deal of the day over on bladeforums. There's a bit of a crack in the horn portion of the handle so it was discounted. I figure if it ever breaks I'll just epoxy everything back together, if that doesn't work I can epoxy it all and wire wrap it or something.Calguns.net, where everyone responding to your post is a Navy Force Delta Recon 6 Sniperator.Comment

I'm pretty sure he knew what he had. It looks like a fake PM2. Usually you can tell in a number of details, but with yours I notice the blade grind near the choil. Real Spyderco's don't have that cut above the choil at the back of the sharp edge... also I think there is more of an angle on the gimping (on real ones). It varies and knock-offs are getting better, but yours definitely has a few tell-tale details (besides the price). Also look for an origin of CHINA for sellers and check the feedback and other items for sale of course.Comment

It's not a fake. I have many Spydercos bought from authorized dealers and several have the slight grind that continues nearest the hole on the spine. My Military has it, as does my Endura and Delica. All FFG too. All from authorized dealers, BladeHQ, and Knifecenter to be specific. The gimping is correct Spydie too.I'm pretty sure he knew what he had. It looks like a fake PM2. How many cut-outs are in the liner on the right (the side with the pocket clip)? It's not a fake. The PM2 is one of the most counterfeited Spydercos out there. The price alone should have tipped you off.Comment

I'm talking about what could be considered a sharpening notch above the "o" in Colorado. There is not one on real ones I have seen and owned.
Also the initial logo by the hole is bit too far from the hole. The compression lock tab is more squared and I bet the gimping feels different as well as the G10 texture.
The logo that's too far from the hole is different and the clip shape is different.
I can see all this because your pictures are so good and I am now holding my PM2 in-hand. Spyder logo on the clip is a bit too high on the clip as well.
Screw holes in the scales are too big. On mine, there is absolutely zero gap around the screw heads.
Just IMHO. I don't mean to offend.Comment

What does the other side look like and what steel is labeled on the blade? M390? S30V? The blue ones I have seen that shade are M390 sprint runs.Comment

That's what I'm seeing as well. The etchings on the blade are all just a little off. G10 texture is different and holes are over sized around the screws.
