Its S35VN steel right? Thats probably the best edc everyman blade steel on the market. Cardboard is one of the fastest ways to dull any knife doesnt matter the steel. While the 0095 is one of ZT lower end knives its still much higher quality than a Gerber or Cold Steel or etc.Leave a comment:

Thanks!
I love Cold Steel, the Code 4 Tanto is a favorite, and never lost its edge. Probably one of the best sub 100 knives out there.

Yeah, I hear you. I almost always use a fixed blade for recycling at home - cardboard breakdown. I just keep three or so knives in the garage like a Mora or similar. If they stop slicing I run them trough the Worksharp a few passes.
Not the hottest steel now but I really love Elmax. Cheap slicing I like Kershaws... Cryo G10, Thermite, RJ, Blurs. I really like the BDZ1 steel Blur Tanto.Leave a comment:

I don’t want a fixed blade, they can get you in trouble and I have to work in public. You got a beauty, so maybe you don't like ZT's.
I find edge retention really great on ZT's compared to cheap stuff like Big 5 "$60" knives that are always on sale for $20... or cheap chinese steel on $15 Chinese Kershaw's, etc...
The ZT bearings on a $200+ knife CAN seize up. I never had it happen with dirt but certainly did with corrosion (salt water in one day - 0452CF). That can be a definite weak link where something with phos bronze bushings has no issues. Fixed blades don't have that issue either.
I’ve owned a lot of knives and this one should have been about $100 less.
I’ll admit it is sexy and ergonomic, just wish the edge held up to cardboard and general use.Leave a comment:

Nice stuff up there! Medfords look like beautiful tanks and that Fallkniven bowie is neat.
I'm thinking of trying one of the Chavez or Blauvelt production knives farmed to Reate or We... like the Chavez Ultramar or Arcform Catalyst. Leaning towards the Arcform.Leave a comment:

JPS3B isn't messing around! Thanks for sharing and pics!
excitable boy, no pics of the show? I saw some pen dudes talking about that show.
Earlier in the thread I said I was tapping out for the year and technically I still am. Preordered this way earlier in the year. It's great, love it. The handle...it's perfect.
