There are so many scammers on EBAY but if you stick to powersellers with good ratings and preferably discounters with a brick and mortar it is fairly safe IMHO. For new stuff anyway. Great used deals are there too sometimes, but buyer beware.Leave a comment:

I HATE counterfeiters!!! Hate! Would slice those muthas with their cheap az steel if I ran into them in a dark alley.
Equally douchey are the people who support that market, IMO (shady sellers, people who dgaf etc, not speaking to this recent transaction above).
Nice pics as always and thanks for sharing JesseT!Leave a comment:

Here's one for $35 with a flashlight. Check out the pics. This one is even better than yours. I can tell by the lettering/font on the blade because the spacing is off, but still it is really really close copy without the obviously fake sharpening choil or wrong clip. Also the angle the lettering on both sides is too parallel to the grind. The screw holes in the scales look better than yours too, but the BIG giveaway? The price.
Describe the scenario in which you imagine a seller has a $100 knife like an S30V PM2 or a blue M390 PM2 that cost probably $250 and is selling it buy it now for $30-$50? He forgot? He stole it? I don't get it

Pretty much every pic I can find of that knife shows the blade running right to the choil without any sharpening notch, as well as bright machine finished screws and a polished stainless clip, not the black clip and matte finish screws like yours

It's not a fake. Good observations though. Look at high rez photos from legit sources. You'll see why I know.Leave a comment:

I'm talking about what could be considered a sharpening notch above the "o" in Colorado. There is not one on real ones I have seen and owned.
Also the initial logo by the hole is bit too far from the hole. The compression lock tab is more squared and I bet the gimping feels different as well as the G10 texture.
The logo that's too far from the hole is different and the clip shape is different.
I can see all this because your pictures are so good and I am now holding my PM2 in-hand. Spyder logo on the clip is a bit too high on the clip as well.
Screw holes in the scales are too big. On mine, there is absolutely zero gap around the screw heads.
Just IMHO. I don't mean to offend.
That's what I'm seeing as well. The etchings on the blade are all just a little off. G10 texture is different and holes are over sized around the screws.

What does the other side look like and what steel is labeled on the blade? M390? S30V? The blue ones I have seen that shade are M390 sprint runs.Leave a comment:

How many cut-outs are in the liner on the right (the side with the pocket clip)? It's not a fake. I have many Spydercos bought from authorized dealers and several have the slight grind that continues nearest the hole on the spine. My Military has it, as does my Endura and Delica. All FFG too. All from authorized dealers. The gimping is correct Spydie too.
The PM2 is one of the most counterfeited Spydercos out there. The price alone should have tipped you off.Leave a comment:

All FFG too. All from authorized dealers, BladeHQ, and Knifecenter to be specific. The gimping is correct Spydie too.I'm pretty sure he knew what he had. It looks like a fake PM2. Usually you can tell in a number of details, but with yours I notice the blade grind near the choil. Real Spyderco's don't have that cut above the choil at the back of the sharp edge... also I think there is more of an angle on the gimping (on real ones). It varies and knock-offs are getting better, but yours definitely has a few tell-tale details (besides the price). Also look for an origin of CHINA for sellers and check the feedback and other items for sale of course.Leave a comment:
