Waved or unwaved? Satin or black?
Curious because I just ordered a black LW Matriarch 2 Wave from Spyderco that I should receive shortly.
Also ordered a Chinook 4 and Tropen from them too. Reason is that I just discovered that as a retired LEO, I'm eligible for Spyderco's OpFocus program and can buy knives directly from them at 50% off MSRP which is even less than MAP pricing (30%) from online and store front dealers. So, I have no reason to buy any Spyders elsewhere unless they are discontinued and/or no longer available from Spyderco.
How the HECK do you become available for that program?Comment

I wanted to see what all the noise was about with the 1095 knives intended for woodcraft!
The perspective makes the Becker small drop point (at the bottom) appear almost as large as the Campanion at the top. That's not the case!
These 1095 blades can cut. The Becker small drop point is the one that fits me the best so far. Here in SoCal, there is not much wood to process, so I don't really need the Crewman. I don't really need the BSDP either, but it is just the perfect size for a fixed blade, for me.
I got some of those Sonora Desert ironwood blocks from eBay, and I will carve some nice scales for the Ontario TAK-1. Nice knife, a little finer in the point than I'd like, but I find the RAT a hair thicker than I'd like. So I guess I am the problem!Last edited by Khromo; 01-17-2019, 1:40 PM."Self defense is not a fashion show. A defensive handgun is not a little black dress, or a purse."

You can find out about Spyderco's OpFocus 50% discount program and how to qualify/sign up for it here:
Spyderco is an American cutlery company based in Golden, Colorado, producing knives and knife sharpeners. Spyderco pioneered many features that are now common in folding knives
The overview says that only active duty LEOs (and other public safety personnel) are eligible for the program, but when I signed up and sent in a photo of my ID/badge, it was approved by SheerID which does the review. Eligibility for the program also automatically qualified me to buy "restricted" knives w/o further certification needed. I know this because I entered a test order for an Autonomy and the order was set up to be processed like any other.
Sign up for it if you think you're eligible.
OK, just signed up for it, but I'm not seeing any emails coming through to confirm anything. We'll see if anything comes of it. Thanks for the link!Comment

Great Eastern 21's are shipping to distro's this week
Black linen Bull Buster Early Reserves are in at CK
Last time offered was 2015 IIRC.

Orange Delrin and OD Green Linen are also available now at Collector Knives. People who like Sodbusters and want a great one, they have the smaller model too - orange and black Delrin Bull Nose.
Tempted to get an orange set. I wish they made some Canvas ones.Last edited by crufflers; 01-19-2019, 6:17 PM.Comment

ESEE Izula in Olive Drab. Got it mostly as an excuse to try a little project with leather cord. Wrapped the handle & finished it with a snake-knot lanyard.
