People are not rational. They feel like Obama will wave his hand and all the guns and ammunition will evaporate into thin air. The panic buying is nuts. I agree, why hoard .22LR? Once you've got 5000 rounds or so you should be fine for a few months. Obama does not have magical powers, even if he wanted to get rid of all the guns on Jan. 20th he still has to wait for Congress; he'll have to wait at least a couple of years and probably Congress will never pass another AWB; it's a political third rail.

    It's senseless panic.

I've been watching ammo come and go at 2 wal-marts for 3 months at least 1 or 2x a week I`m in to get stuff and check ammo.

I've never seen so much 3" 00 Buck 15 packs at once and so little/none .22LR bulk. The 00 had been out for a long time and now it's back and no one is buying it... same with 2 3/4" 5 packs... what is out is 3.5" buck.

They really don't have much 9mm, .45, etc across the board if you think about 10 people a week buying ammo at 2-3x their normal rate it's not that hard to wonder where it went. The issue will be getting it back IN STOCK.

Even if Obama doesn't do anything on the 20th, but says he will in Feb (says it in feb not does it) or even later I can see ammo, and guns in general being hard to get for the months or YEARS it takes him to pass anything. There is a large population, and a large population with $ that will keep gobbling it up. Just imagine if he states a 400% tax on ammo, and/or guns, and discussed banning X or Y... people will freak again and think it's EVERYTHING, and buy it all up. You wonder how many ppl right now buy up to stock for themselves and to resell in the future... a lot of ppl are thinking both I know.

THen again I hope he does nothing and all this ammo hoarding people have done goes for sale at 40% off

for the most part the wally world in fresno has had a good stock on everything. went to wallys near my work last night and they had plenty of BB 9mm ($8.97) and 40 s&w ($12.97). No BB ($14.97)/WWB .45 acp in any of the wallys here though. WWB are about the same, with plenty of value packs and 50 packs. Shelves are about 50-60% bare. I'm still looking for the 100 pack Federal .223 for $40 that i've seen on this thread.

Just got back from Wally world in Orange. The still have about 10 of the 50 packs in 9mm, 4 or 5 of the 100 packs in 40sw and 5 or 6 of the 50 packs for 45acp. They had some other stuff too but I wasn't paying attention to anything put pistol ammo.
Norman Thomas said this in a 1944 speech:
"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of "liberalism," they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened." He went on to say: "I no longer need to run as a Presidential Candidate for the Socialist Party. The Democratic Party has adopted our platform."

What I find strange is that 40 S&W is left on the shelves pretty much all across the board! Everyone's buying 45ACP and 9mm but hardly any demand for 40 S&W exists...even on the ammo sites. 40 S&W is no prob but 45 acp and 9mm is hard to come by.....weird.

              What's most common pretty much.
I would say MOST anyone who is purchasing ammo at any serious rate has at least one .45 and most likely 9mm. Can skip over hte .40 LOL

Yeah that's me. 45ACP and 9mm. No need for the 40. There are some nice deals I've seen in 40 but managed to avoid buying yet another caliber. Its a pain in the *** to build up a stockpile for what I own, there is no reason to make the job even bigger.

just got back from Orange and stocked up on some Blazer Brass in .45. They had about 5 or 6 boxes of WWB in 230 FMJ .45.
Seems like they dont have to much of a problem getting the Blazer B, only the WWB. Either way theres some left
