AK folding stock options

Alright, so Iv had my mind set on a full stock for my upcomming AK-74 build, but yesterday I went to Angeles and saw a guy with an AK with a bangin folding stock. I didnt get a chance to chat him up about it, so Im kind of at a loss. Can any of you suggest some folding stock options for stamped receivers that arent the Russian-styled ones. Thanks!

my next build is an AMD with a romyg barrel with an amd extended brake to bring it to legal legnth, should be nice

Romy, E.German, and Polish(tantal) wire side folders fit the standard fixed-stock rear trunnion of most stamped AKMs and AK-74s.

Russian/Bulgarian triangle folders, and Polish/Chinese/Yugo/etc under-folders all take special receivers and trunnions.

Did you decide on the ACE???

I put an underfolder on mine. Lots of grinding with a dremel, but it works like its supposed to. I purchased the rear trunion on gun brokers, and the stock and hardware from K-var. It clears 30rd mags and the VFG. I guess I'll have to take some new pics, though.

I'm just not a big fan of the M4 stocks on AK's...

What kind of Calgunner are you? We take a hundred pics, maybe shoot the dang thing, then oil it all down, stick it in the back of the safe, and build another one.

The ACE stock is the most ergonomic and the best looking IMO. It can also be used as either a fixed or folding stock depending on whether or not you install the folding mechanism. You can also make it fold in either direction by flipping the mechanism.

ace is the s**t! the stock sidefolders are cheap and strong(and oh so ugly). nothing beats the cool factor of an unterfolder. lots of cotting and a different trunnion though. the u/f adapters have a cheesy look and mag clearance probs. if you go ace, the internal adapter has the cleanest look but requires dremelling off the tang.

Whoa whoa whoa Ross! I decided on the ACE stock for my UPCOMMING build! Once my baby is finished, Ill b sure to take many pics and post them, please be patient brethren. Oh and Im having FEDUPWBS do the build so you know its gonna be bada**.

Thanks, they wouldn't be here if it wasn't for your help. Of course, I hand filed all of the rear trunion holes for the underfolder. It only took 4 evenings...

I have used the ACE folder (cut the tang) on one of my AMD-65's and it's moosemeat!

Lockup is tight in both the opened and closed position. The foam tube helps with the aiming spotweld too.
