I've got you all beat, I bought a vise and I don't even have a mill.
There was a guy selling American Sun CNC style vises on eBay dirt cheap a while back so I bought a cute little 4" just to have. I think I paid less than $70 shipped.
I should have bought a half dozen, they are perfect hobby size vises and the quality is outstanding.
Any way I'm done bragging.Comment

I'm debating between the LMS X2 and the Grizzly G0704 (BF20), the RF-45
is not my cup of tea; as I don't like the overall design and mass...I'm
leaning towards the Grizzly/BF-20 as It has more vertical travel/capacity.
I am In for the group buy...
It is only a matter of waiting for my tax refund to come in around mid to late
February and getting comfirmation on which model milling machine we all settle on.
Thanks.Last edited by Dr69er; 01-23-2012, 10:04 AM.**************************************************

I HATE you! I have been looking and looking. You did really good. Congrats. What kind of condition, etc.
For tooling, I am really liking MSC. They have some great sales and they are really fast shippers. I ordered stuff Monday morning and it all came in Tuesday afternoon from 4 different warehouses.
My BF20 will be here on Friday assuming there are no delays in transit. Then comes the fun of cleaning the grease off, tramming it and breaking it in.
What kind of condition is yours in?Starve the beast, move to a free state.

sadly glacern isnt usa made as they claim. also they lack any repeat-ability in clamping. Chick and Kurt are the only vises we will ever run in our cnc machinesComment

Does their vises make it anymore American than not if they are using Taiwanese castings? Anyways, I never put down their vises. All I stated that the materials origin. FACT: castings made in Taiwan. FACT: finished machining in USA. How's that for fact?Comment
