Default Support an AW Case - Donate to The Calguns Foundation (now with PayPal & GUNPAL)

More work has been occurring at The Calguns Foundation.

We now have a new address (and a direct bank account) to accept donations to:

The Calguns Foundation
751 Laurel Street Suite 935
San Carlos, CA 94070-3113

Now all you have to write on your check is "The Calguns Foundation." Please include your email address or Calguns handle so that we can send you thank you letter for your tax deduction once our 501(c) status is complete.
3

We now accept both PayPal:

and GUNPAL:

Donations sent or auto sending to the old address will still get to us and get deposited but it is worth it to change to the new address.

Update: We have received both our CA State and our IRS 501(c)3 Tax Deductible status! Your donations are now fully deductible.

Our primary activities right now are:
1. Bringing an AW case. Read about Gene Hoffman's AW Permit Denial here.

2. Assisting folks who have had their OLLs seized on BLM land.

3. Various documentation and education projects to update out of date DOJ BoF documents and to help make Law Enforcement, DA's and Judges aware of Harrot and the regulations around magazine fixing kits.

4. Exploratory fazes of an outreach campaign to teach out of state FFLs about the CFLC program.

We're here to defend and expand the rights of California gun owners.

Please think about donating $100 to $1000 to support the fight now that Heller has been decided. Your money will go very directly to expanding gun owner rights in California. Some folks here have set up homebanking to send us anywhere from $20 a month to $100 a month. That sort of steady income really gives us the legs to get counsel pushing on more and more "Sons of Heller" cases.

Edited to add: Yes we're aware of issues with PayPal. Donations such as these are within their Terms of Service. If you don't wish to support PayPal we suggest you mail a check to the address above.

-Gene Hoffman
Chairman
The Calguns Foundation

I'm very excited to be able to finally come out of the gates swinging.

Guys, in the wake of Heller we are going to have state level moping up to do. For the first time in 200 years we have the ability to do so.

You all know us, you know what we're capable of on our own, splintered. Now unified under one roof, get ready to see some MAJOR changes in CA!

Regarding this section of item #3:

"to help make Law Enforcement, DA's and Judges aware of ... the regulations around magazine fixing kits."(emphasis mine)

Why is this an issue? The BOF is not bringing this up, are they? I suggest letting sleeping dogs lie on this...

Is there any time frame when we will know the non-profit status?

If I can get the tax deduction it frees up another 30-40% to make more donations.

Just sent $100.00 using PayPal.

1. The education around mag fixing kits is to make sure that DAs and Law Enforcement understand that Prince-50's and BB's are legal. There is no new FUD, just a lack of education out there.

2. We don't report your donations to anyone. If you mark on the donation that you wish to remain anonymous, you will to everyone but the people actually handling your deposit (CGF board members/treasurer.)

3. We expect to submit our non-profit status paperwork this weekend. However, the deductibility of your donation should we receive non-profit status, would be retroactive.

hahahah!! I'm such an idiot! Thanks for clarifying Gene! I was thinking 'kits to fix (repair) broken magazines'!!

What a dumbass! I'm with ya now! I totally concur with getting the correct info out there. We also need to concentrate on getting the info out to the gun SHOP owners too, they are just as guilty as anyone for having/spreading the wrong info.

Thanks again!

Just sent $25 to the paypal account. I wish I could donate more to the cause, but unfortunately I'm just a broke-*** college student.

I would be totally willing to offer my services in other ways to the CalGuns Foundation as a volunteer.

If you think of any way I can help just PM me.

Guys, even a little bit helps a LOT! If every calguns member gives even 25 bux we can effect radical change.

Thank you all who have donated so far. Gene and I (and the rest of the Foundation) are excited to be able to put your money directly to work!

Will donate regardless, but is there any chance of getting one of those nifty magnets that were given out from Trutanich-Michel during the BWO fund drive? I never got one.

"Offensive legal activism"

I'll take this opportunity to say that I am very proud to be part of this movement. I love this country and hopefully by the time I get my citizenship, it will be an even freer, better place.

I'm also linking to this thread on various gun boards and blog comments to help spread awareness across the country (and maybe get some more donations). California's the front lines, now!

+1 I'm surprised that a pro-2A group would help support PayPal. I know that PP is widely used, etc. but it seems to me that telling people who want to use PayPal, "Look, PayPal is no friend of ours, we won't use them and neither should you, start using GearPay.com instead and support those who support us" would be a good idea. Putting ideology aside, it wouldn't surprise me if PayPal froze the account in response to a complaint that their system was being used for "gun-related activity"... it's a real risk, and AFAIK there's no recourse, as they aren't (at least last time I looked) a chartered bank.
