Have you tried pushing in the pin that does not go in first? Make sure the Upper is completely butt up with the back of the lower.Need A Realtor in SoCal? Shoot me a PM. -
I had the same problem on my first build. Make sure the buffer tube isn't screwed in too far. Here's a link to the thread!

Yes, I did tried to put in the back pin first but it went go in all the way to the other hole. But yes, I 'll try to check the buffer tube and that will be my next move. Thank you guys for the quick response, any help is appreciated...

yes, the pin will go through without the upper, I also did try to moved back the buffer tube but the buffer won't stop with just 1 turn back up. Also, even if I tried to put in the back pin first, still won't go in with the upper. @jamesob, yes it look likes that the buffer tube is causing the problem. It also look like that the seat for the buffer stop was too close that I can't make any more turn. I'm going to put in another upper this weekend to see if the problem was my upper (as per SPIKE manager's suggestion) and from there, we'll see... thank you guys for the help and I wll keep you updated...

On a couple of my builds I had to file away a very little bit of the rear hole on the upper.
But don't start hacking away yet, make sure the holes are off first. Determine whick direction the hole is off to. On my 2 that I filed, I could see the bottom of the hold and not the top. I just took off just a little bit of material from the bottom of the hole. If you are not sure have a second opinion before doing anything .... Its easy to take off and hard to put back !!!Wanna learn to shoot SKEET? I am here to introduce all shooters to the sport of SKEET Shooting ....

DPMS upper/RRA lower, same problem
I had to relieve the sides of the lug first, then I put some white out on the top(bottom) of the lug to see if the lug was making contact and not allowing the upper to fully. with the front pin in the upper still would not meet the lower to allow the alignment of the holes for the the pin to go into the lug.
I didn't put any photo up to show the whiteout as I thought it was pretty much self explanatory what I did. The whiteout never did hit the lower. So I knew it was the hole that was off and not the lug that was hitting and holding it back from lining up.. The back pin is still very tight when going through the second side. I could relieve it somemore, however, I would rather it just seat itself and wear into it's "groove" so to speak. It will stay a very tight lockup for a long time. I am not sure if it is the lug or the lower's hole location that is off.
I can say that the upper fits two other lowers that I have... without any problem..
I too a small jewelers diamond file (round) and LIGHTLY relieved the bottom (as the gun sits) of the hole in the lug. until I could see the the full round of the pin from the opposite side of the upper.
Here are some photos....

I want to add that I relieved the lug more than you are shown here. I took the three sided file to get in as close to the side face of the lug to keep a 90* corner there. The round one of course would have left a radius. Anyway, it worked out pretty good. I have not shot it yet so I can't really say anything towards that.
Here are some photos....

hmmm, the part that you are pointing with a punch, is that the white out? was that the part that you filed? On my lower, i could see the pin almost to the other hole and it is off by a couple of mils. Nice picture... Thanks
