Not if I beat you to the lottery winnings. I buy about 3 tickets per year, which is probably much more frequent than a rational person would participate. Lol

Fine, you win. I have the worst of luck when it comes to winning stuff.

In all seriousness, I've thought about doing the same thing as what you've asked about, and really am slowly moving towards the goal of setting up shop some day, starting with searching out and taking local classes on Mills, Lathes, CNCs, etc, but I won't do anything like what you've suggested until I have a proper FFL 07 license and insurance in my hands... The world is too litigious these days; best to protect yourself any way possible.

Grip safety fitting and rear tang work is fire control work.
Any fire control work is potentially work towards turning a non-firearm into a firearm.

Because of Itar and the other 7 regulatory agencies that you have to deal with make it prohibitively expensive for a hobby business.

But those are not operations listed remaining to complete the frame. I don't know, just thinking things through.

The BATF does not classify non-firearm based on the listed operations to complete the frame.
They generally say that any fire control related work turns a non-firearm hunk-of-metal into a firearm.

Have you considered holding classes? I'd pay $100 to spend an afternoon with you learning how to craft a 1911, having my questions answered, etc
