Also it looks like the channel for the safety detent is on the left side with the HK selector whereas its on the right side with the standard AR selector. You shouldn't have felt any positive engagement when moving from that 15 degrees it did travel back to safe whereas you would have if it were the standard AR selector. Interesting that HK did that perhaps to help guarantee incompatibility with standard GI parts kits.

The channel for the safety detent is identical as a standard AR. the safety lever on HK is removed on one side, that's why it looks on the opposite side...lol
