Help with 80%

I decided to go with self contained triggers on my 80% lowers for this reason... less likely that slightly incorrect hole locations will lead to problems.

crap, measured the depth of fire control pocket...its within specs, same as my other lowers...back to the drawing board. gonna try a different safety see if it makes any difference

Throw a cheap trigger in there, file the safety down and use that for your beater AR. Cut out a new lower for the good parts.

You can puzzle out the issue by taking chips off the board.

I would suggest that you remove the trigger & hammer, the pistol grip & selector. Then check your selector, the detent and the spring. Check the selector hole (in the receiver) for burs. Clean it up & apply a lite coat of lube (not oil). Make sure the selector is in the "fire" position when you re-install the pistol grip, selector detent pin & spring.

If that fails to resolve the problem, I'd try another selector/pin/spring, etc. Then, I'd drop a different trigger group in there.

Along the way, you'll discover what the problem was.

Excellent idea... thanks a bunch.. I was going to apply some blue dye to the safety selector drum so I can see where it is binding with the tail end of the trigger...

Hey guys, I want to thank each and everyone of you for your suggestions and helpful advice. I changed out the safety lever and Bingo! All is right in the world again...lol

Here is the culprit. The HK safety roller is the one on the right side. Standard AR safety is on left. The AR safety has a section cutout/recessed in the middle. HK safety does not, I guess HK is not compatible with NON HK fire control parts... Bastards...lol

Did you purchase an HK LPK or just had an HK safety laying around? I don't understand how you installed an HK safety with a generic LPK or FCG.

Also is your 80% made to look like an HK or is that an actual HK lower? I know you mentioned that you were having problems with an 80%'er but then post up a pic of an HK lower. I'm confused...

It is an 80% HK clone that he finished out as realistic as possible to clone a real HK lower.

He was probably trying to make it as close to a 416 as he could, so he found an HK LPK

you may have the wrong plunger installed, or the plunger spring did not make it into the hole when you installed the hand grip.
