and what happened with Brad, I thought he was the director of operations?
Was Brad not there? New title? I thought Bill Kapeles was the director of operations. I thought Brad was in charge of the curriculum.

It's summer. Isn't Brad usually up at the Alaska facility.

COA only. I think basic 4 day, skill builder, and Combat Master Prep are the only ones with G and DG.

True. I didn't read first to see when they were talking about. I saw him there earlier in the year. I'll be back this month and next.

@AAShooter We were at Range 6 with Matt Jeng. They also had ATH at Range 7, not sure who the RM was, but Chris Chrysochou gave the low light / no light lecture. From the glimpses I caught, Range 7 had a different moving and shooting course.

No skills test but they said they would laugh and ridicule you if your shot lands on the white

We also heard Brad Ackerman is now in Alaska. He normally gives the lecture in the morning and introduces the staff, etc. but there won't be the regular beginner classes until Monday so no morning or lunchtime lecture

I don't know if you guys looked but they changed their requirements page for Precision Rifle 1 (2).

I go each May, but I just built an 80% ar10, and I'm burning to try it in a class, so December if I can swing work.

Signed up for the Gander Mountain 300 degree simulator in Lake Mary, FL on the 20th. Prices went down, only $25.00 / 30 minutes w/instructor. When I did it last year it was $45.00!

The description is clearer than the past ones. The requirements are the same, but just more descriptive. In the past, some students came unprepared.

I'm planning on attending the Dec class.

Edit: I noticed that data books are not provided anymore. Is Ken still running the class?

Ken still runs it, correct-no book! With the new range though its nicer - more room and out to 850. But, with the extra people-NO room on snipers point!

Armorer courses, no book, no mat.

Uzi, you have to buy the ammo AND RENT THE WEAPON too.

                      Hopefully you have FS credits!

If all goes well, maybe I will see you in December!

Hey beanz2, what range are you on for RSB? I'm on range 3.
We'll just give them the 'ol number 6.

Man, that rain came down hard today. I was expecting some rain, but that was insane. too bad the lightning was getting close and we had to end early, but I know I wouldn't want to be standing out on the range holding a lightning rod at the high ready

oh well, hopefully we can get a full day in tomorrow. Hopefully I can get myself dialed in on the ARX tomorrow. Shooting's not to bad on it, but I need to work on the malfunctions. I've DG'ed rifle before, so I know I can do it.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

Dammit - Wish I'd known that. I was on Range 4 and shot the worst I've ever done. Kept soaking my hat, but something on the neck would have been nice.

They have: towels for the neck, a complete head wrap AND cool wrist wraps.

Well as they say, train as you fight, so: if you are attacked on an extremely hot day, and you are tired, you will do well as you trained for that day!

Now you will have to come back in Dec-Jan for the other extreme.

Personally I believe Front Sight is shooting themselves in the foot with their recent revenue generating choices. I don't mind if they want to charge for gun use, gun mats and ammo but when they compromise the learning in the classes they reduce the effectiveness and value of the classes. Charging for the class lecture notes (especially with shortened lectures) and armorer manuals means that many students will not spend the money due to their high cost. As a result, they get less out of the class and have less to share with prospective students/members. The best thing they can do is maximize the learning in the classes.
