IDPA shooters can't handle a complicated scoring system?

Hit factor? Hit factor, we don't need no stinking hit factor.

Personally, too simplistic... It puts too heavy an emphasis on accuracy than speed (in contrast, Multi-Gun places an emphasis on speed).
One of the reasons I stopped shooting IDPA. It was difficult finding squads that you won't be having "lawyers" gobbling up time and fun!
They only know how to add and subtract... Not multiply and divide...

IDPA was intended to be a defensive sport, not a run and gun and hose all the non-white cardboard and steel you see as fast as you can with as many rounds as possible from your $5000+ race gun barely making PF.
Oh, and you get to wear a fishing vest, like YSR did.

Nothing defensive about IDPA... That is just what the Wilsons want to "market" the sport.
- Tricked out 1911/2011s in the ESP division
- CCP division allows more or less the same mods as ESP
- Can't even change the color of the trigger in SSP
- CO division allows for the use of a magwell
- Not allowing the use of WMLs (unless LEO/MIL in duty gear)
- BUG at 6-rounds MAX when most sub-compacts are pushing out to 10
- Artificially slowing down the game with the 1.0 down so the Wilsons can catch up (check on Bob Vogel and Ron Avery's take on that change)
- Being reactive to a defensive scenario by not allowing speed reloads (up until now)
- Artificially restricting "from cover" from the feet/faultlines but allowing major part of the body to be exposed (even during a slide lock reload)
- Etc. etc.
That is more on the shooter prerogative... Here I am in a Level 2 match - factory ammo (Fiocchi 115GR) + stock OEM trigger + stock guide rod assembly. No make-up shots, even on steel. What held me back is not the gun nor ammo - but my technique, ie., gun not up and ready once I get into position, hesitation/overconfirmation of sight picture, not blending my positions/targets, etc.all the non-white cardboard and steel you see as fast as you can with as many rounds as possible from your $5000+ race gun barely making PF.
Gun is a $500 Komiefornia Glock 17 Gen 3. The only thing not stock in this gun is the slide (to accommodate the optic) and Talon Grips' tape.
I prefer a more discrete paparazzi's vest...Oh, and you get to wear a fishing vest, like YSR did.

One of my last matches in IDPA -
That said - how I always explain the difference between the two...

How would USPS score it?
All alpha except one Charlie.
20 second run.
Well that depends, how many shooters that day? Are you #1 or last on the list.
If you're number one, then your hit factor is 100% otherwise, get out your calculator or abacus and wait until everyone is done...NRA Life Member and Certified Instructor: Pistol - Rifle - Shotgun - PPITH - PPOTH - NRA Certified RSO
