I am at FS now taking 4D shotgun. I had inquired about ammo. It is between 3X-4X of retail ammo. e.g. $30 for a box of birdshot.

That is gouging in my book. All ammo for 4 day shotgun would have cost $1,300, I bought it from Target Sports for $380 for the class.

I would never use a range that forced me to use their ammo and that goes double for FS.

I've been a member for years but won't be after February as it stands now. If I lived in the south end of NV instead of the north and could get there more easily, it might be worth it; but as it is, it's not worth paying a monthly "maintenance" fee. It's certainly not worth paying any of the other crazy fees, insurance, having to use FS ammo, etc. This reminds me of campground timeshare tactics... or the endgame of a collapsing Ponzi or real estate pyramid scheme. I especially love Piazza's blaming members and not his business decisions.

Like some others here, most likely, I have a number of memberships and classes that will be worthless after February. Luckily, I didn't put in the kind of cash that others have, either, so I won't be out enough to care. Way to keep your promises, Doc!
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

            I agree.

I think I read that part of the new terms is he has the right to change the contract terms and conditions at any time. I believe that while you may gain some short term benefits with a last class you will loose in the long run.
            Good points.

Hopefully we'll have a better lay of the ground by the end of next month.

                Just a thought.

FS has always been good about letting groups of people attend classes together.

Organize ourselves into groups of 40 and each group sign up/email FS saying I want to take the a particular class (4DDH for example) with my 39 friends (list of all 40 attached) on this date (3 weeks out) and then everyone show up.

If they say - sorry you guys are not registered, respond with: We registered more than 2 weeks out pursuant to our membership -what range is open because we are doing the class ourselves anyway. Then do exactly that.

I sent Iggy an email about him refunding my President (Private Training) membership which I plan on using for purchasing his overpriced ammo from the Bunker. So far no response... If I don't get a good one, I will be canceling my 3-day private class from 7-Feb.

... and now - a smart-aleck member sends me a PM saying that I should not forget about the cancellation policy of $300/day. Or another nitpicker who was obviously clueless of what had just transpired over the weekend suggesting that I find someone else as private trainings are in demand...

I try to be polite - but, really, what was the point if there weren't any useful advise #notHelping? Better yet - does it really matter at this point?

Anyways - by Iggy unilaterally changing the terms/policies, he created a probable illegal tying agreement with the ammo purchase requirement that is at least 3x the market. And as for the cancellation policy - nope, not in my President's welcome letter (I have an archived copy).

Oh well... It was good while it lasted.

Yes the food trailer was operating. Not sure about its future

I'm not sure I understand the idea of a class action. What are we going to get from this turnip?

                            Synopsis?
                            TIA!
                            Definitely above market pricing.

I just took a look at some of the membership pages. They still say "attend as often as you want, free of charge."
                            Just a teeny little dichotomy.

I found both my Commander and Knight welcome letters and it clearly states you can take as many classes as you want. as often as you want for life.

Piazza's filings with the Nevada Secretary of State look like the pictures posted on the post office wall. More changes than I thought. I can't cut/paste a hotlink, but go to the Nevada Secretary of States' website, search for 'front sight' and be amazed. Lots happening over the years with no mention to members.
