Are we limited to 10 rounds mags in pistol and rifle comps? If so, guess us CA 3 gunners will get really good at mag changes.

No. Most matches have a max length for pistol mags in tactical class (140mm) but rifle is unlimited - You will definitely want a featureless AR so you can use your pre-ban hi-caps.

Take your Glock 22 and get a 9mm conversion barrel for it so you can shoot lead bullets.
If you are shooting factory ammo, the 40 is fine, but it will recoil more.
Get a Benelli M1 or M2 with the 21" ribbed barrel and put an 8 shot mag tube on it.
AR with an A1 or A2 stock, 18" medium weight barrel with a rifle gas system, freefloat tube of your choice and a good muzzzle brake.

I'm doing benelli work now too.
Extended loading gates, chamfered loading ports, sight and barrel work etc...

+1 for rob's work... he worked over my m1s90 and it runs 100% and is smooth as butter.
however, if randall's benelli work is as good as his ar15 work (and i'm sure that it is) i wouldn't hesitate to let randall work over your shotgun.

After all the discussions about the difference between tactical and open rifles being so small, I actually noticed a match or two (LaRue?) that restricted Tactical rifles to 45 rounds. A sign of things to come?
