    Free dumpster dived work table-

One with a drawer or two would be harder to find cheap, but since I have dos presses , I like the room underneath for my knees. Plus it is easier to sweep up the spent primers and dropped bullets.

Im in the same boat, but i need a work bench instead of a reloading bench. Ill just make one from 4x4"s and 2x6"s. Need a sturdy bench to mount my new drill press and vise. Dont need shelves, just a peg board, still got an empty craftsman tool cabinet which I cant afford the 800+ piece mechanics set for.

Build a nice table for about 80 bucks in materials. Sand + refinish

Are you offering this to me or are you just being cruel and showing me what a nice set up you got

Man, before this reloading bug got to me, I used to see nice freaking work benches and now that I am looking for one, I can't seem to find one that I like. I will continue searching on Craigslist and asking people around to see if my dream work bench comes along.

I'm having this same problem. I need a reloading bench but can't find one. I think I may have found one on craigslist for $10 that was an assembly bench a company is getting rid of. It's metal framed but should be perfect if I replace the work surface.

Ind. Liq. even has a web site now: check it (workbenches)-
            clicky

It's one thing if you have good cabinet building skills and just want to make a modular bench with quick change press features and a nice finish in wood, but if you are like me and just want a functional table with a good sturdy heft to it for cheap...

spend $100 and then keep the rest for bullets.

How often does your wife drag you to Ikea? The scratch and dent section in there normally has several heavy duty table tops for cheap at any given time. I've seen several in there that would have made good reloading benches. I have most of the tools and hardware needed for building a bench. Let me know if you need any help with it.

Mike, I will be getting my stuff delivered today, once I have a basic idea of that everything looks like (in person) I will then make a decision if I will buy a pre made reloading bench or if I will call you for assistance to make one from scratch. I only have a hammer and some power drills.

I built mine from scratch, all materials from home depot. I spray painted the 2x4's white so it didnt look too bad in my apt.

If you were close, I'de give you a hand building yours, its really not hard.

For FREE stuff, check out Craigslist.

I built my loading bench out of a free desk I picked up locally. I put casters on it since it is a heavy SOB, but we're talking $10 and 60 minutes of work for that (and I know I made it more complicated than needed).

A quick search at CL in San Diego (I think that's where you said you were) shows a number of desks for free. I don't know how close any of them are for you, but might be worth a drive. HERE is a free work bench too.

Look for something built well with a sturdy top. Depending on the desk, height may be an issue, but can be addressed.

Thank you my brother. I never taught about doing a "Free" search on craigslist. There is like 5 of them that look like they might work. Will be going to check them out tomorrow.

SERIOUSLY, thank you so much, I owe you a couple of beers my friend.

I will take you up on that the next time I'm in SD.

Happy to help. I was pretty pleased with myself when I thought of that and avoided building a bench myself earlier this year.

Very easy to build from scratch with very few tools and little skill. A good sturdy design, lag-bolted together for strength, bolted to the wall studs, too.

And topped with a melamine-coated particle board for oil-proofing and easy cleanup. I can even write notes on it if I need to jot something down.
