Now I need a reloading bench.

Well, it looks like I will be getting into the Hobby of Reloading. Got most of the stuff ordered today and have been looking at some of pictures of reloading benches that some of the members have. I saw this one being used a lot at a different forum. Any opinions on this work bench? is there a different place that I could get a better reloading bench from? I would build one myself but I do not have the proper wood cutting tools to do it.

To be honest it looks way too low for your 650. Since it is a kit though and you are the one supplying the wood then you could essentially build it the same way just taller. I have a small work bench with a small single stage press and a bunch of drawers and shelves or storage. My 650 is mounted on a small bench that I made just specifically for it. It is extremely sturdy but is just big enough to mount the press and have some area to set a few things and it is the perfect height.

Just to make sure you know, that kit does not come with the wood.

this one looks like you can do with just a circular saw and some measuring tools http://www.hammerzone.com/archives/w...h/below20.html just about the same amount of cutting you'll be doing if you bought the one from amazon. you can always rent a tools from lowes or home depot if you cant barrow them from a good neighbor or friend.

I dunno, after seeing him get attacked by that evil table i can only imagine what a rogue circular saw could do to him. Maybe a complete kit would be best.

No kidding. Me + Tools with blades = Disaster waiting to happen

I know that I still need to buy the wood for the one on Amazon.com, but I can just go to The Home Depot and have them cut the wood for me.

Any other ideas would really be appreciated. Remember, if it involves me using something other than a hammer/drill nails/screws, I don't think I can build it without injuring myself. LOL

I think that bench would be fine then. You just need to make the legs taller and secure it to the wall with bolts or some other sturdy fastner. Its not a bad option if you dont want to mess with making something totally custom because that kit still allows you to customize the important stuff like height. Also, make sure that the wood you use for the tabletop is a good quality, thick and heavy wood.

Have LOWES or Homedepot cut the wood for you.

I use the Gorilla shelves. It makes up two tables plus a shelf on each one. Just be sure to fasten to wall and add a plate underneath so the bolts for press do not pull through. Osh used to carry a a nice metal work bench with a drawer, peg board, upper and lower shelves. It has the same height as the Gorilla shelving. Will try to post a few pics later.

I've got a pair of these in the garage:

They have very nice tops on them and are very sturdy. I didn't want to build mine, I wanted it to look good. However, they seem to be delivery only, at least up here and the delivery charge was over $100 each but they are worth it IMO.

Since your are in SD, I'd recommend scrounging the industrial liquidator type places that have a lot of metal framed work tables (formerly from the electronics and mil-industrial manufacturing community that used to be prevalent here).

I found one for free and it has the right amount of heft to support the press while working the ram.

                      Its very depressing

If there is no woman present, bolt it to the coffee table in front of the TV.

Here is Gorilla Racks web site. http://www.gorillarack.com/products/.../workbench.htm

The bench height is 36"s. I have the bench on the far right. Click on shelf storage, I have the one second from the right.

I built mine from scratch. All the cuts were done at home depot and the total bill was around $200 including heavy duty sliding rails for the tumbler drawer.

May be a bit more than you want to spend, but for me it was worth it.

I'll post pics in a day or so pending time.

Would love to see pics. Also, do you have "Blue Prints" for it? How thick is the wood table top piece?

At this point, I only have about $300 bucks for a reloading table. I have been searching on craigslist and I saw one but by the time that I called the person, he told me that it was sold already.
