Good stuff, but there are things you can do to save money or improve your reloading process.

#1, look for it used on ebay. Dillon has the lifetime warrenty! Buying used makes much more sense then buying new.
#2, forget the dillon media and buy corn media from the pet store.
#3, forget the electronic scale. save your money and buy a rcbs chargemaster for precision match grade ammo loading.
#4, forget the digital caliper. one can be easily found in the www for about $20.
#5, forget the case guages. you can measure oal with your digital caliper.
#6, used dies can be easily found on ebay. i can give you a good deal on a slightly used .308 3 die set.
#7, you need a trimmer. save the money and buy the giraud trimmer.
#8, an rcbs trim mate case prep center is an awesome tool. it can do anything to prep your brass. i love it and would not sell it.

You can also use the microsoft live ebay promotion going on right now for 30% off.

I would also look into Forestor, Hornady, and RCBS reloading dies. They are top notch stuff.

Dillon is nice, but there are alot of nice products out there. Don't just buy Dillon.

Also when you buy used, you can sometimes get alot of assesories like a case tumber, bullet puller, extra dies, etc. Don't worry about the press being in bad condition, cause with the lifetime no bs warrrenty all you do is call them and send it in. They will fully refurbish it for you for free! All you pay is shipping cost to Dillon. They will also replace any broken or outdated parts for free! I bet you can get everything you want, plus the giraud trimmer, chargemaster, and rcbs kit for around $2,200. Note the giraud, chargemaster, and brass kit is an additional $900 estimated cost that you can get for free! These are all bad *** machines.

Some may call it the "cheap" route, I call it the "smart" route.

For precision work, I don't use my RL550B.

I have a RL550B, & I absolutely loved it. For reloading my pistol rounds. I can never get it to load "accurate/precision" 223 and 308 tho.

For that, I go back to my RCBS RC2.

Another thing, I found that dillon case gauges may not be the best, since I have rounds which get a pass from the dillon gauge but my Remington 700 SS 5R rejected them.

If I were you, I will get a 550 for my pistol rounds and my plinking 223, and then a single stage like RCBS RC for loading precision rounds.

I will get a electronic dispenser and a electronic scale set..... like PACT or RCBS RangeMaster or even Lyman....

I will get a Giruaud trimmer, you would NEED that.

          Dies, get reddings competition dies.

Brass polish, is OK, but u should also add a bottle of NU (car polish from Kragen)

I do like Dillon's case lube, for resizing.

oh and I've been reloading for ~19yrs, almost all of that using a Dillon 550B, after starting with a Lee single stage.
              I reload 9mm, .38/.357, .40, .44/mag, .45acp, .223, .243, .270, .308, .30-06

A Dillon 650 is an upgrade / top of the line deal. And takes a whole lot more money to fully utilize its extra automated features, like the case feeder.
For what you've said you want to reload, the 550 is more than sufficient.

I'd say the Dillon guy used to sell cars for a living, because he's pushing the top of the line everything on you.

Nobody seems to understand that the part listed above is a powder measure activation part for loading 308.
It's the caliber specific part that actuates the powder measure.
Without it, the powder measure does not get activated.
It's normally part of a caliber conversion kit, but since he is getting the machine setup for 45, it's not necessary to buy the whole $70 calber conversion kit for 308.
All he needs is the powder funnel and casefeed parts.
The shellplate and buttons get re-used.

The $90 quick change kits include a toolhead, powder die, powder measure and toolhead stand.
Everything you need to have completely setup toolheads for each cartridge.

                  I load for 40+ different cartridges: 380, 9mm, 38 super, 357sig, 38spl, 357mag, 357max, 40s&w, 10mm, 41mag, 44mag, 45acp, 45colt, 17rem, 20tactical, 204ruger, 22hornet, 218bee, 222, 223, 222mag, 22-250, 6ppc, 6-223, 243, 6mm rem, 6.5grendel, 260, 6.5x55, 7tcu, 7-08, 7mag, 30carbine, 300whisper, 30herret/30HRT, 30-30, 308, 30-06, 338federal, 375jdj, 50bmg and others that I am probably forgetting right now.

I have 4 single stage presses, a turret press, an arbor press, a Dillon 450, three 550's, two 650's and two 1050's.

If I had to narrow everything down to one single press, it would be a 650.

By god your e-penis is much bigger than mine. I put forward my list of loadings to illustrate that the 550 is very suitable for the OP's stated desires, NOT as some sort of BS trump as you have apparently done.

Still haven't seen a reasonable rationale for why the OP should be getting a 650, vice a 550. It's overkill. And a lot more money for equipment.

The combination of auto index and powder check is safer.
As you know, it's quite easy to double charge or squib load on the 550.
All you have to do is forget to advance, or advance twice.
This would happen when you were distracted or stopped, right when you re-start.
It can't happen on the 650 with a powder check installed and correctly adjusted without the buzzer going off.

Using your logic of it being overkill, so are porsches and cadillacs, but people still buy them.
There's no such thing as TOO GOOD.
How much time have you spent loading on 650's to be qualified to say they are overkill?

Deciding what to get is MUCH harder than actually loading...

You need the following, but there are dozens of choices for many of these items:
                            Press
                            Dies
                            method to clean cases
                            method to trim rifle cases
                            method to dispense powder

The basic steps from when you pick the brass up off the ground:
                            clean it
                            lube it (rifle)
                            size/deprime it
                            trim it (if necessary)

There will always be something else you need, but you got all the big stuff covered.
From here it gets easier and easier.
All you add are more die sets and caliber conversion kits as you add more cartridges to reload.

Military brass has crimped primer pockets.
You are going to want a 5/16" or 3/8" countersink from the hardware store to cut out the crimps with a hand drill.

And you will remember a couple weeks ago that I told you it would be $3000 to do it right.
                                You thought I was kidding...
