That's what you think NOW, but reloading changes everything...
Take your initial shooting volume numbers and double or triple them.

Also, because it takes 15-20 minutes to change over the press for a new load, load in big batches.
Load up ALL your 45 brass, then switch to 223 and load up ALL of that.
This is why I recommend people save brass until they have 5 gallons of each cartridge they are going to load before they start reloading.

You can load blaster rifle ammo in full progressive, but you may want to take the powder measure off and weigh charges if you want to do precision rifle ammo with premium quality bullets.

Thank you, that makes sense. Really thank you. I was second guessing myself, but now I ain't nomore. I guess I will go ahead and order it then. Thanks everyone for the help, thank you Randall.

I will probably place the order tomorrow, so if you can think of anything else that I should order, please let me know.

When you first see how sturdy the thing is and you get it set up on your bench i guarantee it will put a smile on your face. Listening to those rounds drop into the bin in a rhythmic pattern is music to my ears.

          I just got my XL650.
I'm dieing to set it up and start loading, but want to put some thicker wood on the bench top first.
I got the powder check with it, but not the case feeder.
Looking at the manual, it looks like you feed a certain number of cases into the tube at a time?
If that's the case, the case feeder seems like an essential, gotta order one up.

More importantly, take note of what "normal" feels like because once in a while things will not feel right.
When something feels wrong, something IS wrong, so stop and look until you find it.
It may be a crimped primer pocket, or a 40 case stuck in a 45...
Either can ruin your cadence and stop the press cold.

              Speaking of which...
Primer pocket swager or a countersink and a handheld drill for taking the primer crimps out of all that mlitary 223/308 brass you pickup at the range.
You will need to get rid of the crimp before you can put new primers in.

Sort all your brass by cartridge before tumbling.
9's and 38 supers get stuck in 40's and 40's get stuck in 45's...
Eventually, you will know what your brass sounds like when you are seperating the media from the brass.
If it sounds different one time, there's either a non-matching case, or a split case in the batch.
Go through it and find the problem.

Loading on a 650 without a casefeeder is really tedious.
If you are not running a casefeeder, the 550 is a better press.
The casefeeder keeps that tube full at all times.
When the tube is full, the casefeeder automatically shuts off.
As you cycle the press, the casefeeder turns back on to drop another case each time there is room in the tube for it.

I use a pair of $.60 garbage bags to keep the dust off my machines.

I can be a bit Scottish at times...
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.

Tis better to have Trolled & lost, Than to never have Trolled, at all.

                              Chief,
You might want to check out Brian Enos' site here http://www.brianenos.com/pages/dillon.html he's got a good FAQ section if your just getting started and does a credible job comparing the differences between machines. His forum has lots of good info for not only the Dilon products in general, but reloading & shooting.

Go forth and get yourself a C&R FFL. It's the best $30 you will ever spend.

Send copies to all of the online dealers and inquire about their dealer pricing. Most of the big retailers extend that courtesy to Crufflers, but some don't.
