If they can't count, they shouldn't be advertising an actual quantity on their bulk ammo sales. They should just sell it by weight. 933/1,000 is a pretty significant miss.
Yes it is. You would think they would take care of a customer and not want this to get out

          Guess not

I talked to a few people using FM ammo at the Prado IDPA match this weekend. Nothing but good things to say about FM. I told them about my LAX ammo experience I got back. They are still cheating people......

Here's a start. If you want more, just google "LAX kaboom" and variations of that concept. I never went out looking for this info before, just came across it so often in casual reading, and the name involved was always "LAX."
Its almost always a case failure, and its debated whether its an overcharged round or just fatigued brass. You can shoot thousands of rounds that fire fine, but eventually you or someone near you is going to experience this.
I wanted to pass along some information on an incident that happened to me today at the range. I was shooting a stock Wilson Combat Protector chambered in .45. I have owned this pistol for about 5 months and have put 1,200 rounds downrange. Since I end up at the range 2-3 times a week I...

Has anyone tried these reloaded rounds yet? I couldn't find any information of them on this site. I'm looking at the 180gr .40 Under $170 shipped for 500 rounds including the plastic ammo "can" These will be for plinking away - but I don't want to risk destroying my gun or endangering the...

Today was at the range and on my last magazine for the day, got through 12 rounds and on the 13th kaboom!!! blew the extractor out and safety was part way out. went and got gunsmith at range he says it was ammo. I'm using reloads. The casing was split and stuck in barrel also the endcap was...

I avoid commercial reloads in general. The only exception I would make is ammo that was reloaded from once fired cases from either military bases or police ranges so that you have a reasonable chance that they are indeed once-fired.

I bought some ammo from LAX a few years ago. I ended up counting and putting the 500 9mm rounds I got into used ammo boxes. I had all 500 but out of the back I had 3 with some pretty questionable cases, a few with lose bullet and one with a very bad split in the case, like it was a good 2/3rds down the case. After seeing the large split in that case, I've always stayed away from them.

That's good to hear. Too bad you had to go through that hassle to get your money back though.

I'd wager some of it "falls off the truck" so to speak and ends up used or sold by their employees. But why wasn't the owner that concerned?

I was going to hit the gun show in Costa Mesa tomorrow. Specifically for the man can of 1500 9mm. I've bought one at every show for the last year. And now I'm cringing at the thought of being shorted.

Complete Bravo Sierra that they sent you a check. If they were even half the business they think they are, they would've sent you a hundred or so rounds for the trouble and a coupon for some free ammo or a steep discount at their next show. And they would've done this after the FIRST phone call to them. Instead, they lose a customer and a ton more that read and hear about this, over $14.74. Genius, sheer genius.
"Well, looky here. If it ain't the fuzz".

I think LAX Range gets a little cocky because they are one of relatively few shooting ranges in that area. They figure they can basically charge as much as they want, and deliver poor customer service, and if you don't like it then too bad you'll have to drive an extra 30-45 minutes to get to the next shooting range.

I don't buy their reloaded ammo.
