    Lee Classic Turret

Anyone know if the priming system is included with the press (90064), press only not a Kit? I am ordering one and need to know if I have to order the auto prime separately? Lee's website doesn't show whats included. Want to order what is needed all at once.

The priming system in my opinion is kinda hokey. I prefer to prime off the press.
I do everything in batch, so it doesn't take anymore time. And I can watch TV while priming..

No... "press only" does not include the priming system, but you can easily order it separately.

Not a Cook is correct, it comes with only the press and spent primer tube. You will need a primer - hand or Lee auto prime - and a powder measure.

You can find the auto prime for about 25 bucks online.

              Wait..

The Lee Classic Turret comes with both small and large priming adaptors.

BUT - as delivered, you have to manually place the primer in the adaptor. They have a separate primer delivery where you swing it into the adaptor and the thing will prime.

I have seen it in action and was not impressed.

BTW - the adaptors must be in place when depriming or you will end up with every 5th primer going on the floor.

I know this sounds confusing. Probably because I'm not using the Lee terms..

Thanks for the info, this will be a secondary press to my Loadmaster. It will be used mainly as a single stage for depriming and other single stage operations. For 89 bucks it is cheaper than a single stage.

                Thanks for the replies!

If the goal is to only deprime, might want to look at a hand decapper such as the "Harvey Deprimer" or the Lee handheld press. Being able to decap anywhere in the living room is a plus. I'm looking into getting one myself so I spend less time in the garage.

The 4 newer turret presses I bought have them built in. I love their on the press priming system.

If you install it correctly and align it correctly the Lee Safety Prime system works very well. I have had mine on my Classic Turret press for several years. If you don't have it lined up with the priming arm it will not work right. Take your time to set it up right from the beginning and it works and works.

I have no trouble doing 150 rounds per hour on mine which sounds slow but that is a leisurely pace with distractions from my dog, grandkids and refilling my glass.

To answer your original question the Safety Prime kit does not come with the press unless you buy the whole kit.

Someone mentioned an adapter... the classic does come with a small plastic adapter but you WILL need a primer system added in. The adapter will be used to mount your safety prime, or other Lee priming device.

The safety prime also comes with the adapter.

Another poster is also correct... if you line up the safety prime when you set it up you will have no trouble with it. (Accept the last primer will need to be manually placed as it never drops, but after 99 is little trouble.)

If it is the press that you are buying then NO. I think it comes with the primer seater in it, but the safety prime (their priming system) is kinda cool and works very well. I never had any issues with mine once I set it up. The only flaw is the last TWO primers need to have special attention placed on them to get them to work right, else fill up the tube again, but it was simple enough to make work. You might wanna get a sharpie and make L or S on your priming feed arms. I think one is black and one is white, I put an L on the large primer since L is about all that I use.

The safety prime or whatever it is called comes with the kit or you have to buy it seperately.

My personal opinion is to get the press and then go buy the safety prime seperately, as well as the auto disk pro with the addons (swivel riser & adjustable charge bar). Then you are good to go. ANd THIS press that you listed IS the CORRECT press to get. It is the better of the two choices for the Lee turrets. It is so versatile...

It doesn't come with the primer feeder. I hope you are not buying it from Lee. Midway has it for $111 ish. I got mine in amazon for $88 with free 2 day shipping if you are a amazon prime member. It is a great press for the money. I used it to load my rifle rounds.
