Automatic case ejector mod for lee classic turret

so i was reading through an awesome thread on the high road of "clever things you have invented" http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=218188

And came across this! I don't own a LCT, but I think it's pretty neat. You guys might enjoy it.

That's a pretty cool idea. I may try one out on my LCT.

They been out for about a couple years now... There is a guy that will sell you one for around $35 or so or you can just make your own. It is nice and the idea seems to work, but I aint done it yet...

Soon as I saw this I figured Stilly would be on it. What do you mean you haven't done it yet? I'm waiting to get a turret until you guys figure out all there is to figure out about them.

That's a really cool idea that I might have to try. The ingenuity behind some of these ideas is great.

I just tried the mod using a primer arm to pop the cases off after swaging using the RCBS swaging die. It works much better than using a screwdriver to get the cases off the swager but you do need to bump it pretty firmly to release.

Turns out that that damn LCT is like a 300ZX. There aint a LOT of mods that you can do, but there is a short list and they are pretty cool.

I have seen TWO versions of the auto ejector, a modified priming device that uses the straight stick tubes, bullet feeder and something else.

I was gonna buy this auto ejector but I sent it over to Lee first and they said that they needed to see more interest in it FIRST before they made one, so I was gonna buy one, but the guy was out, so then I was gonna MAKE one, but I lost interest somewhere between my house and home depot. Maybe I saw Carl's Jr or somethign and stopped for breakfast instead and then forgot about it...

Sorry, but there's 47 pages in the thread, which page is this mod on?

If you are referring to using the RCBS swaging die on a LCT, here's the thread with the mod.

I just made one for my Lee turret press yesterday. Orchard Supply sells the shaft collar (servalite) #3006U. Size 3/8 3/4 3/8". Also bought 4/40 stainless steel screw 1 1/2" long. I put the collar on the press shaft. Lined it up with the crimp die, slightly tightened the set screw on the shaft. It needs to move up and down the shaft freely but it must also rotate with the shaft too. This is where u adjust the set screw. Mark with a sharpie and drill and tap with 4/40. Screw in the screw and cut off screw head. If your set screw is on the right of the shaft then u drill the hole about 90 degrees from the set screw.
Let me say it works. Wish I knew how to upload video. I reloaded 50 .308 and all ejected after crimping. I made a plastic scoop and place small container to the right so it catches my bullets. Works great too.
What would make the better is a reverse shaft for the turret press with this case ejector then it would eject to the left side of the press and not the right. Hope this helps. Send private message and I'll try and email u the video or pics.

It would get in the way for what I do.

When I drop the rammer I flick out the shell to my right as I am putting in the new one. This would get in my way. NOW if I had an auto case feeder and an auto bullet dropper, well... you see where this can now go... THAT would be pretty sweet...

I just bought a 5 hole turret and an R CBS bullet feeder. I know it 5 pulls instead of 4 on the handle but it will go faster. Now that I have the bullet feeder and case ejector all I need to do is put in the case. Sooo simple..

The problem with that is the cartridge is kicked out the right side where the handle is. Well, what happens if the turret rotation was reversed?

I just finished the bending and smoothing out. A dry run reveals that it works. I just need to get a square nut for the top where it mates with the die disk. Not bad for one hour.
