    9mm & W231

I have a really sweet reload for 45 acp with 200gr SWC and 5.3 gr of W231....

Does anyone have any recommended formular for 9mm with W231??

And preferred bullet weight? Mostly for plinkin' but with enough Umph to reliably cycle the Pistol???

    tnx again!!

    With a 124gr I like 4.3gr W231. I think my 115gr is loaded at 4.8 but don't quote me on that.

I use 125gr bear creek RN bullet with 4.4gr of W231. Works great for me.

Do the Bear Creek have the traditional lub groove?
        Do you secondarily lube them?

I lot 4.5 grn of 231 for 9mm. Little bit on the light side but decent for plinking. Will probably go a little deeper on the seating depth and call it good.

            4.7gr of W231 and a 115gr fmj shoots about 1120fps for me

              I use 115gr Xtreme RN over 4.6gr W231 set at an OAL of 1.125" (1080 - 1100fps).

I have tried several different formulas for 9mm 115gr Xtreme RN (COAL) 1.135with 231 in a Glock 19 and 26. I have used 4.4, 4.5, 4.6, 4.7 & 4.8. I didn't find much difference in either accuracy or recoil. However, my wife thought she liked 4.6 better, so we settled on 4.6 for our Glocks.

                      Favorite 9mm load

I have been reloading 9mm for about 25yrs now.
My favorite load for 115gr FMJ RN is Win-231 w/ 5.0gr powder, win small pistol primer and COAL=1.150".
I have tried win-231 powder from 4.8gr to 5.7gr, all with good results.
My older SPEER Manual #11 lists win-231 powder for 115gr FMJ from 5.2gr to 5.7gr. Most newer Manuals top out at 4.8gr to 5.0gr. I fired these reloads in 5 different 9mm pistols, all with good accuracy and cycling of the slide.
                      Hope this helps Steven

What gun it's being used is VERY important. Loads for my 9mm 1911 will feel much different in my glock 19.

I just did some 147jhp with 3.6 w231 col 1.12 abd light crimp. No muzzle flip at all. Couldn't believe how light shooting it was. I may go 3.7 or 1.1 col as it didn't lock back a few times. I'm also running a 10lb recoil spring and 17lb hammer spring.

Bullseye works too but I forgot the recipe.

I also go with 4.3 for plinking although I let it vary between 4.3-4.5 since I struggle with a lee less than perfect powder measure.
