Most of the guys I shoot with (National Match, AR service rifle) do not crimp. Some do. As long as it's consistent then a crimp should not degrade accuracy, most of us avoid the extra variable.

I don't crimp my .223 reloads and never had a problem.

Once the primer pocket is the correct size, you won't have to do it again, but many don't reload them past 5-6 times. I have doubled that as a long time reloader told me that you can reload them up to like 24 times. I am on around the 12th reloading on some on mine... but I don't load them to MAX.

A lot of guys like to chase max, especially it seems in the .223. This is silly, you get plenty of muzzle velocity out of a .223 without being stupid and as 86d found you get 12 loadings out of the brass. Don't be stupid, save your money.

I wet tumble so I have a Lee Universal Decapping Die. It's a useful die to have around either way though.

If you are crushing primers, the brass is probably crimped.
