Quick question on the lee items

The lee universal decapping die. Will it mount on a RCBS rock chucker press?
The lee Deccaper and base. How does that work? I was searching for a video and could not find one. Does it mount on a die? If so will it mount to a RCBS die?

    Thanks again for the help

    Jay

PS: I apologize, I can barely see my laptop screen. I was up all morning typing emails, and letters to fax to members of Senate Appropriations committee on SB199 and SB808. So my eyes are really straining. I guess this is normal as we age.

Yes the Lee decapper die will fit the RCBS press and most other makes.

        case prep is the hassle

trimming and fixing crimped pockets gets old

get used to having the occasional half way stuck primer i use 2 uniformers and i still get one that wont seat every 100 or so

          Progress

Ok I went to two LGS. One did not have anything that would help. The other had a Lyman universal decapper. I bought the lyman decapper and I got a lyman pocket swager.
The decapper was awesome, I was able to do 60 rounds in no time, with no problems.
I used the pocket swager and it went in all the primer pockets pretty easy, and not much resistance while turning. I had 3 out of 60 still get stuck. That is a lot better than what I was dealing with initially. I have 438 cartridges to reload. I will finish up that batch, then invest in a different swager tool in the future.

          Thanks again for the help

Two piece tool. One holds the shell (sort of; you hold it in the base with one hand) and a decapper you manually tap into the shell with a hammer (has a needle nose so you can work it into dented case mouths). Once in position you hammer the decapper and the primer falls out the bottom into the shell holder base. So; works independently of the press / no need to change anything on the press.

make sure you lube your cases too.

OP For primer pocket swaging, try this tool from RCBS. I use it on my Lee turret press but the popper doesn't work on the Lee so I pull the cases off, but it will be fine on your RCBS press.

                      Love this site

Thank you for the continued support and information.
Solus, I broke the whole rod. I did see those at basspro, but I was hoping to fine the whole set up. RCBS is mailing me one.

I don lube my rifle cases, but thank you this is all real good information, I appreciate the support.

Enfield I did see that tool on Midwayusa. I am currently using the lyman pocket swagging tool. I have 400+ cases to reload. I am going continue to use that tool, and if I can reload 350 of those I will be happy. Next month I think I may buy that tool mentioned. Just to make life easier.

                      Thanks again

If you don't lube your rifle cases you need to start doing that.

You lube the cases for sizing, but you don't want lube on them when you run them in the gun.

Sorry type error on my part

Sorry there was a type error on my last post. "I DON lube my cases" I was trying to type I DO lube my cases. I did not catch the error.

                            Here is another question.

The brass I am reloading was first time fired new. This is the first reload for them. I did not even think to measure it, being it was first time fired. Some are slightly longer than the Max Case length of 1.760. I already ran 50 of them through the resizing/decapping die.
Should I still trim those cases?

I have had trouble in the past when I did not crimp some of my pistol reloads. Do AR reloads need a strong crimp?

                            Thanks

                            Jay

Just prepped 350 223/556 cases. Rockchucker press, Hornady Dies, RCBS spray lube, RCBS primer pocket swager.

No issues with deprimer pins, although I do have spares. Been reloading 30 years without breaking a pin, but most has been non-crimped cases.

The spray lube was nice instead of rolling them on a lube pad; had not tried that before.

The RCBS pocket swager works really nice.

I put a lite to medium crimp on my reloads using a lee factory crimp die. Most places recommend a crimp for semi auto, especially with a floating firing pin. You will find guys that don't crimp though.
