    Pulled bullets for reloading

    I have another NOOB question.

I recently placed an order for some bullets from rocky mountain reloading and noticed that they also have some nice prices (to me anyways) on 175gr "Pulled" bullets. I hope to stay with heavier match style, which also intend to use for hunting, when I purchase a bolt rifle.

Since I am new and trying to learn this reloading bit. Has anyone used these before in their 308?

I also see some lighter (110gr)round nose listed there as well, for plinking how are these??

    Thanks

I'm assuming pulled bullets are discounted being they have some marring from a bulet puller?

I've never used "pulled" 175s but I do shoot 175SMKs out of my rifle with ok success. But many guys do with great succes. I'm still tuning in my hand loads.

I am assuming you are shooting a Win-308.

Those pulled Sierra Matchkings will work fine. There may be a ring where the collet has made a mark. They will definitely not win any bench rest competitions ... but you will easily get sub-moa at 100 yards with a decent rifle.

As to the 110 grain plated lead carbine bullets. You will have trouble getting them on paper if you load them to full muzzle velocity specs as in the loading manual. You will need to do reduced loads with these things using either Trailboss or SR4759

This is how I got the 110 grain plated LRN to work on my Springfield .30-06

If that's a 1000 bullets that's a real good price , you better buy now before the hoard sucks this dry!

PVI has 175gr 2nd for $230 per k. 2nd's are way better than pulls.

Plus I think Sierra discourages SMK bullets for Hunting.

Especially around here. Anytime any things posted here its OOS in minutes. Kinda makes me mad but not that we have so many lurkers roaming around sucking up posted deals before the regulars that contribute to the forum do. And every deal found thread has 2,549 views and only 3 posts. But at the same time it doesn't cause its a fair game and open market.

That's true they aren't hunting bullets.

I mean, I MIGHT, but usually will not. I got other things to do (like place my order...)

Seconds are bullets that are usually made at the start of a run. We used to buy them at Sierra by the wheel borrow full. They were sold by the lb. they shot great.

I have shot 55 grain 5.56 bullets with pull marks with no issues, but I am using iron sights @ 100yd, no scope, not shooting for 1" MOA.

I would shoot 9mm pulled plated with marks, if I had the cash to buy when they had them in stock (</=25yd).

                          Do they have pull-marks?

                            pulled Bullets

I purchased some of the 110's for my 30-30. They appear to be in really good shape. I have not had a chance to use them, but I will use them. They are a little on the short side, but they appear to be able to work.
