That's like trading a Porsche for a Volkswagen. Not for nothing, but I don't even consider the Hornady LNL to be comparable in any way to the Dillon 650. Albeit you're willing to toss some cash in, I wouldn't want the Hornady after using the Dillon. Fact of life.

I didn't even read your entire post. It's not that much a difference. Could also be like some having a Porsche and always driving the speed limit when the hornady (an Acura) would do just fine.

I've heard this argument often, but the reality is that you end up driving an Acura, not a Porsche.

That is about how I feel . now 4nephews have / or have ordered AWs .
I prefer my bolt action - then the lever . If you can not hit it on 2nd round - it is gone .
A small grouping is good for sighting in . But as a hobby , I guess it is better than doing / drugs .
There are probably quite a few people out there that are going to sell the reloading stuff for what they can get . I am not one of them .

Hey Jess-I'm in Martinez. We don't have anything set up. Only a few sporadic meets a long time ago in San Ramon.

I've got 40 brass to trade for some experience if you like. I'd like to see how you're set up and how you adjust. I only have 45 acp set up on mine for the time being. It works ok, but I lack the experienced eyes looking over my shoulder making sure I'm doing everything right.

I can show you how I do my adjusting, but most of what I know about adjusting dies came from the Dillon DVD that Scheels gave me when I got my press. You are welcome to check out my setup, and how I do things. I buy the quick change kits from Dillon, and once they are set, I leave them alone unless something needs to change. I slide the tool head with powder measure all ready setup in and out when I Change calibers, and switch the caliber conversion over, and go. I load until I am out of brass, and then switch . I pre-process all of my brass beforehand (de-prime, clean and trim) then let the press do its thing when I am loading.

Sportsman's Warehouse in Fairfield. They just opened and have a ton of supplies. There is a place in Vallejo, triple A's that sells, Kit n kabootle in Oakley used to be there and sell reloading supplies, but they are long gone. I doubt Brentwood Armory sells reloading supplies, but Antioch armory might. The best place is Scheels in Sparks NV. My family has a vacation home in Truckee, so I am there often.

From what I heard, USI in Concord (closed to rifle/pistol shooting, but still open for trap???) has power/primer/bullets at their clubhouse. Not sure if they still do or their prices/selection. They're off Hwy 4 & Willow Pass Rd. It's a lot closer than Sportsmans Warehouse in Fairfield. I have to factor in drive-time, bridge toll etc into my cost unless I'm already out there for something else.

Otherwise, it's the internet when they run sales etc. Keep an eye for sales and specials. Others have coordinated group buys etc. I bought 2k rounds of 45 ACP a year ago from X-Treme Bullets on a group buy.

For powders, Doug Fetterly is a local guy (Petaluma) and is at the different gun shows around. So, if you're up in the wine country, it might be worth it to look him up for a 4 lb or 8 lb jug. He's got a thread around here somewhere.
