    Annealing Machine?

I am looking for someone who would be able to help me build a machine. I can build the power supply and the speed control for the motors but need help with the metal parts. I am also going to be looking into building a case and bullet feeder. my goal is to see how cost effectivly one of these can be build. Not everyone can afford 3 $500 pieces of equiptment. My goal is around 100 to 200 each.
Let me know if you can help out

Well, when you get them built you will have a line around the block.

Doesn't annealing kind of cut the life of the casing a little bit?

I thought you only needed to hit the tops with a blow torch or something.

Sorry, I can not help much here but if you need to use a machine shop or two, they ahve them online now. there was one place called emachineshop.com I think. If you can do cad I bet you can make your parts there.

      Good luck with that.

If you can get the motor work.. just need a fabricator to make the table, torch holders, and the plate to hold brass.. the 360 model from the link uses tear drop shapes for multi caliber uses....

the tear drop style is what I was thinking of trying. I am debating on a two motor setup that spins the top and the case in place so you only need one torch.

Case feeders from dillon are only around 225...not 500.

Annealers are $500 from Giraud, and worth it, especially if you own Lapua brass at $1.00 a pop.

If you can build an annealer for $250.00 that works as simply as the giraud I will take one.....

I am thinking of trying for the Giraud one now. I would have to use two seperate motors to keep it east to make.

No. It extends the life of the casing.

I think statistically it only extends the life barely as the majority of case failures are case head separations and not split necks (with most case designs). The major benefit is that it makes neck tension far more consistent for better elevation control at extreme range.

It should extend case life if you neckturn your brass.

In most cases that means double the amount of reloads before neck failure. I have never had a case head failure, but plenty of mouths cracking, especially on straight cases like the .444 and .45-70. YMMV.

Annealing does extend the life of brass. Usually the neck becomes brittle and cracks but with annealing you can stop that. There is nothing you can do about case head separation and is usually what takes the life of a case if neck splits don't do it first. Annealing saves your brass from neck failure and keeps neck tension uniform.

I have a very fast and cheap way I anneal using a cordless drill, wrench socket and a torch. I can blow through 100 in under 10 minutes. I've been meaning to make a video but I have not had time.

If you really need some help let me know, I already have a design that's done. I built a few of them, tried to market them and then realized that it simply wasn't worth doing at $500 each, much less $250 each. I even have parts.

With some people plopping down $800 for a set of swage dies, what makes you think a $500 annealing device wouldn't sell?
