    Will ammo prices go down?

I'm relatively new to the world of guns so I don't have much to look back on as far as ammo prices go. It seems like ammo is quite expensive now and I'm wondering if it is bad idea to buy bulk ammo now. From your experience, does ammo peak in price and then go down, or does it just keep going up and stay there? Do you think military ammo like LC XM193 is going get cheaper anytime soon?

I doubt it. If it does it won't be much. Look what SA 308 was selling for just 2-3 years ago. The price has doubled if not tripled.
Lord, make my hand fast and accurate.
Let my aim be true and my hand faster
than those who would seek to destroy me.
Grant me victory over my foes and those who wish to do harm to me and mine.
Let not my last thought be 'If I only had my gun."
And Lord, if today is truly the day you call me home, let me die in an empty pile of brass.

I'm in the same boat as you are. Relatively new. I'd say stock up. And be aware of what's happening with AB 2062.

The cost of gas will go down before the cost of ammo (or ammunition components).

Ya, I was thinking about that too. Think it will pass? At least 9mm isn't anywhere near as expensive as 5.56 is right now.

Generally speaking, handgun ammo is cheaper than rifle ammo.

              I hope AB 2062 doesn't.

Nothing in this state ever goes down. Except our economy and faith in the state's government. Buy all the ammo you can now. If AB 2062 passes, Wal-Mart is going to be the only place selling handgun ammo. The prices are going to double.

It will go down, just like gas will go down. The question is, when it will go down? That is something I wouldnt hold your breath on.

Ammunition is always a good investment, as of late, it is a really good one.

Ammo prices generally do not go down. Stock-up whenever you can. 1) Basic metals (copper/brass/lead) are rising in cost. 2)And large quantities of those raw metals are no longer being imported into the US due to increased industrialization around the world. It's not going to go down soon, if ever. Expect it to continue going up.

Ammo is always a good to stock up on, keep your eyes out for sales. Wally-marts prices usually fluctuate. Maybe after the war is over prices will drop.

The likelyhood of britney spears making an intelligent statement exceeds the likelyhood of ammo prices coming back down anytime soon.

ammo prices will go down just after the price of fuel drops below $2.00 a gallon.
