I have a serious problem -- please help

I am a dedicated brass recycler (I hate the term brass whore because it indicates I do it for money rather than for the love of shiny things). I have a lot of brass and I have spent the better part of the last several weeks processing it. So much so that I have not loaded anything. So today I went to the range and told myself I was not going to pick up any brass other than my own no matter how tempting. I began shooting my 10/22 and there at my feet was some .223 brass. It had obviously been out in the elements and was quite tarnished but I figures a couple extra hours in the tumbler and it would be good as new. I allowed myself to put it in my range bag but told myself that when I went to the pistol side to shoot my 1911 I would only pick up my own brass because I have plenty of pistol brass. I started to pick up my .45 brass and there was all this bright shiny .40 S&W brass just lying there obviously premium brass once fired. I am ashamed to admit it but I was weak and I succumbed to temptation and picked it up. After that it was all over. 9mm, .40 S&W, .45 ACP I couldn't get enough of the stuff. I did leave the calibers I don't load but I think I have a serious problem. Is there a 12 step group for people like me? Can I kick this addiction? Please tell me there is hope for me to lead a normal life.

Sorry. There is no known cure. The best you can do is reload what you already have.

You left the calibers that you don't load? Sounds like you have your "problem" better under control than I do.

Damn straight. I grab all of it and then sort it out when I get home, Don;t load for those calibers, You mean don't load for them YET but I keep them aside and look for a cool gun to match them and then one day I WILL buy that gun and I WILL have brass for it already. After reading about how much fun the folks can have with a 10mm, I went looking for one and ya know what? I found a 10mm top for my G-21 so I bought it and WOW, that is seriously like a 9mm on steroids. I hit a clay pigeon at about 125 yards out at steele Peake. Took about 3 shots but I did it. Now I nee to find a decent gun for my .357 sig and 5.7x25, 44 special and .32 acp.

There is no cure for this. I've tried for the last 30 or so years, but it just doesn't work. Just do like I do and bring along a 5 gallon bucket!

I fail to see a problem in your post. That's a normal range day for me.

When I go I ask those around me if they are goin to save their brass. If they say no, I ask them if they mind if I take it. I don't care what caliber they're shooting, if I don't yet reload it, I'm sure I have friends that do.

No cure, no hope of ever letting the shiny stuff go to waste (or to somebody else's range bag)!

Deal with it and enjoy, think of it as a public service, taking aome of those pesky metals out of the environment.

It felt like christmas at my last IDPA match as we cleaned up finding out I was the only reloader of .40 S&W with 4-5 .40 S&W shooters...

I can't say there is a cure. But if you think it will help then I guess I'll take the 9mm and 223. Lol (new to reloading).

                          Brass

The only cure for Stilly is that if I get there first. Then I got to buy more pins

I recently started going to indoor ranges and have been tempted to pick up brass, but by the time I go to pick it up, the range guy is already sweeping it up and pushing it past the firing line, almost like I'm not suppose to....

Outdoors I dont have that problem, I just pick up whatever I shoot and whatever else I see left laying around

How about 'brass rat'? I don't see a problem with collecting something useful others don't want. Like our fellow members have said, just a normal day at the range.
